My (test) box worked just fine.. After a little tinkering and disabling some features of the launcher I had it just how I needed and purchased 4 boxes for nodes on one of my homes network. Now they are paperweights.
Luckily I still have some FireTVs around, not ideal, IMO inferior to the previous setup of the Mi Box but at least works unlike the current version.
