I have a Hauppauge 2250 that came with the 45 button remote and IR receiver/blaster. Since Id like my HTPC to be in a closet and away from my TV, I'll need some way of having the IR receiver near the TV but far from the PC (about 25 feet). Has anyone done this before? Hacked together their own cable? Bought an extension? Any thoughts or ideas on this are very welcome.

Sorry can't help with the IR, but I use a Nyxboard which used RF rather than IR.

Works well for me and might be something to consider.
