Album not scraping
#1
Greetings.
I'm running Kodi 16.1 under OSMC on Raspberry Pi 2 B
I'm trying to scrape my music library using Universal Album Scrapper & Universal Artist Scrapper, but unfortunately, they doesn't work as expected.
The version of Universal Scrapper is 2.6.0 from official Kodi' repo.

My steps:
1. I used MusicBrainz Picard software to set tags to my music and i succeeded:
Image
2. I made "Scan into library" from my files and file appeared in library, but with no album thumbnail, artwork, description.
3. The album in example present at
allmusic
musicbrains
discogs
4. I tried to make "Refresh" album information. But with no effect. After "thinking" 3 - 5 seconds Kodi closes search dialog and still no information about album. Even thumbnail.
Meanwhile in log file:
Code:

Split into your own thread because this is a specific question about a specific album (it is just one album giving you a problem right?). Thanks for providing details, makes answering easier.

By default the Universal Scraper is set to look in TADB for album information. A quick check shows that TADB does not have an entry for "Abductions and Reconstructions" hence you are not getting anything.

You could do the community a service and add this album to TDAB Smile
Otherwise change the scraper settings for this album to look elsewhere.

Thanks.
Unfortunately this album is not the only one which is not recognized by universal album scrapper.
Let's say 40% of my albums failed in recognition in Kodi meanwhile they are available everywhere: musicbrains, discogs, allmusic - everywhere the universal scrapper have to look in.
TADB ?
What is that ?
@olimpia mentioned the first search point is Musicbrains...
Or I missed something ?

Would be very helpful if you could post the full log to xbmclogs as the snippet you show is not showing some info.

So you have scraped and 40% of albums have not been populated with extra information. There are a umber of things that could be happening

a) the Musicbrainz server, fundamental to the Universal Scraper being able to get data, is having issues and is frequently not responding. You could retry, or maybe switch the scraper settingss to use a mirror server as mentioned here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2340855

b) The album may not be found in Musicbrainz by name alone if music files are not tagged with musicbrainz ids, or not subsequently found in the other databases used as sources.

c) Unfortunately there is a bug in Kodi 16, a variable isn't initialsed, that means "Query Info for all" only does something when there has been a library update since after power-up. So click "library update" before you click "Query Info for all".

You may get artwork for some albums and not others, if the mssing ones are popular then again that is probably a server traffic issue. Retry to fill in the gaps.

Failing that a full log would help as Scott suggests, the snippet you showed was simply an album missing from www.theaudioDB.com the default database that is checked for albums. The other thing you could do is change the scraper settings, it does not only use Musicbrainz, discogs, and allmusic.

DaveBlake, thank you for your advice.
After i added missing albums to TADB all scrapped like a charm.
Plus i added mirror of musicbrainz and now all works perfect,
Thank you again, problem solved.
