Recently discovered adblink after running out of storage on my Nvidia shield tv.
Just installed a 128gb microSD card and formatted it.

However when I follow the guide for the Nvidia shield (dev mode etc) and connect from my Mac
I can use all functions apart from the move KODI data function..





... receiving a no storage found error against external storage
Anyone know why this is?

My apologies for missing this post.  If you're still out there,  double-check the formatting of your usb drive.  

There are two methods:

Internal storage: You can store more data on your Android TV. You can’t move your data anywhere else.

Removable storage: You can move content on the drive to another device. Apps and games can’t be moved.

adbLink works with removable storage only.  If the storage is formatted as internal, adbLink won't see it.

Scrcpy launch button

Scrcpy provides display and control of Android devices connected via USB
or TCP/IP. It does not require any root access. Scrcpy works on Windows
GNU/Linux, and macOS.
It focuses on:
Lightness (native, displays only the device screen)
Performance (30~60fps)
Quality (1920x1080 or above)
Low latency (35~70ms)
Low startup time (~1 second to display the first image)

For Android 11, Google has implemented scoped storage 
which  removes the ability for external applications to
write in /sdcard/Android/data/. This has the unfortunate
side-effect of preventing adbLink from accessing Kodi data at
 /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi, meaning no backup/restore, no
 edit of xml files, or any function requiring write access.

adbLink now has the ability to relocate Kodi's files to
/sdcard/kodi_data/ where they are accessible for
 backup/restore, edit, etc. 

This workaround is mainly for Android 11,
but it works with other Android versions as well.

Sometimes when I want to move a file after connecting, the File Manager window shows no files. I reboot the Fire Tv, reboot the computer, still nothing. Eventually it seems to randomly work again. Is there some reason this happens?

I've even tried from different computers and sometimes it works on one but not another and sometimes it doesn't work on both.

If I go into the shell, the ls command shows directories/files.

I haven't had this issue with my Firesticks but am having it with my new Fire TV (Amazon Omni).

Sorry, I haven't seen this behavior.  It's running Android Level 28 (Android 9) and Fire OS 7. Can you capture a log when you see blank panels in the adblink file manager?

The links above to adblink and adblink2 , when I try to open the installed DMG on my M1 mac I get the error " abdlink is damaged and can't be opened , please move to bin " that is on both.
