Hi,
I realise why we are not allowed to mention certain Addons in these Forums but I am a little confused by the fact that Adult addons are being mentioned on here which according to the blurb link to Websites etc. Do the owners of the Websites know this is happening ? In the U.K. the Government have banned viewing certain types of Material which were originally not banned but now classed as "Extreme Porn". This could cause problems relating to Adult addons. The new laws are being tested in Court at the moment and no prosecutions have been successfully made yet.
A cause for concern or not ?
Regards Jamie.

I'm surprised anyone uses an addon at all.
Porn is to be carefully viewed privately in your bathroom or closet, then quickly disregarded by an aggressive history erase regiment.
This is why every company has adapted mobile sites. They know nobody is going to watch it on their TV anymore.
If you want to watch it on your TV, get a VHS player like the pioneers did.
Fact.

Thanks all,
Some interesting replies. I see your point Mortael. Some of the Websites concerned seem to put all the onus on the user anyway, to clear themselves of any responsibility of what is on their Sites.

I keep my hands in my pockets.
The OP does have a good point though in that many of these porn sites link to a lot of media that has copyright protection, so perhaps could be removed on the basis that they work in the same manner as those addons that are banned.
The UK Government is trying to ban everything it can right now to prevent free speech and in the hands of Gruppenführer May, Brigadeführer Osbourne and Oberführer Cameron, with an apathetic public, the British 4th Reich will get it's way.

What does all this has to do with Kodi?
This is not a political forum.

Everything.
The addons could be used to access copyrighted material that would therefore be classed as piracy.
It's a worthwhile discussion in the context of what is and is not legitimate.

I believe Bluesmanuk has a valid point. If any addons point you at material that is normally paid for then that is illegal or if material that has a copyright or is owned by an individual company that would also be a little dodgy as well. If the material is put on a site that is free to view and the material has been placed by the owner of said material to advertise their own Site then that would be legal to view on the actual site so therefore the same on using the Kodi addon. Unfortunately like all material of this type there are very grey areas that can cause problems. If the Makers of addons are very clear about these problems and state that said addon only takes you to sites that are free and legal to view then there is not a problem. I really do think clarification is needed before Kodi users download and use them.
What the government seem to want in the UK is that all sites can only be entered on production of absolute proof that the person is over 18 and just producing a Credit card is not sufficient proof of that.
Just out of interest I would presume that under 18's use this site and really should not be exposed to Porn addons. My biggest concern would be under 16's downloading the said addons. Legally the addons would need a warning as the user clicked on them at the least. I am not trying to be moral here. It is just a question of not breaking any laws.

Well, I can add a dialog to Ultimate Whitecream, to question the user for their age. But what is keeping a 17 year old answering 'no' to a question if he/she is 18 or not?
