I have my own repository, very seldom updated (maybe three times per year). My kodi is configured to autoupdate addons.

I have noticed that kodi can take a long time (weeks!) to notice changes in the repository. I usually get desperate and just force a manual update.

My questions are:

1. How frequently are the repo's MD5 verified?

2. Can I control it via HTTP cache directives like "expires" or "max-age"?

In general, why is Kodi so slow to detect changes and how can I have a better control of it?.
