Installing/Updating Kodi on jailbroken ATV4 without NitoTV?
#31
I have only tired to install the newest Kodi, my ATV4 only has kodi and nitotv installed. I will try to use an earlier version. Does running that install command work for you?

You can't alter the installation path - it is embedded in the deb file

Are you sure sideloading on a jailbroken atv4 still has the 7 days limit?

2. wget http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/darwi...b-tvos.deb
3. nitoHelper -i ~/kodi-20160824-fc0347d-yab-tvos.deb

If you read my output that is the same command I just did.. Instead of using ~/ for the root folder location I just specified it was in the same folder. I already did the wget and downloaded the file to my root folder and into the temp because I didn't want the deb in my root folder.

I also tried ~/ but that shouldn't matter.

deb can delete from root after installation done
root all file rm -rf kodi-20160824-fc0347d-yab-tvos.deb

sadly yes Sad that why I was looking for an alternative method since my device is JB I should have options... being able to SSH and SCP files onto the device doesn't do me much good.

Seems to be working for me. Are you not able to install the latest build? Or getting errors in Kodi itself?

This is the error I get when trying to install the newest build.

I got this error when I did not have kodi installed at all. Once I installed kodi through nitotv, I was able to install the latest build through ssh successfully.

Hi Jailbreakers Wink

I tried that 1st with my jailbroken ATV4 and with KODi sideloaded, and all can I say is that I have the same Probs
as the other Peops in here. Than I removed KODi with Xcode from my ATV4, and installed the KODi alpha version
from the Nito installer, and after that I tried the cmds to download/update the KODi alpha to the latest BETA5
Build, and it worked perfectly.

Thanks alot for these nice cmds Big Grin

is it not possible to choose which kodi build you want to install now. I only have one option from the mirrors site, which is the latest one

I second this appeal. I know it may be space consuming storing all the older versions, but some versions work best depending on individual need.
