v16 DVBviewer client not working
#1
Hello mr manul
I have been trying to get my technisat skystar 2 pci dvb receiver to work with kodi 16.1, but it gave a lot of headache,
I have searched and read all of the forum posts and couldn't quite figure it out ,
DVBViewer client version is 1.11.12 and enabled
DVBViewer pro v5.6 installed and working fine,
DVBViewer recording service 1.31.0 installed and set it up
nothing show in kodi, live tv section is blank and no error message but in DVBViewer my channels showing fine,
so what should I do here to make live tv work with kodi, is there something I'm missing here?

I'm guessing that you haven't enabled livetv yet. You should either see Kodi pulling the channel list + epg or a error message, indicating that Kodi isn't able to connect to the RS backend.

I already enabled live tv and cleared data multiple times but kodi not pulling any channel list or epg , I have done this off a fresh kodi install and I get nothing

Code:
01:20:22 T:7488    INFO: AddOnLog: DVBViewer Client: Loaded (0/0) channels in (0/0) groups
01:20:22 T:7488    INFO: AddOnLog: DVBViewer Client: Loaded 0 timer entries
There are no channels. Are you sure the recording service is set up correctly? You should see your channels in the RS webinterface (http://127.0.0.1:8089/ in your case)

You have have found the problem sir, RS is definitely the culprit on my end, because the web interface doesn't bring anything despite being settup properly maybe its faulty, so if somehow I could make the web interface to pull channels and epg, the DVBViewer Client will be able to do it too, so I should start working on RS and see if I can come up with a solution. thank you

I finally got it working by downgrading DVBViewer Pro to v5.3.2 and Recording Service to 1.30.1, now everything is perfectly working

Great. But 1.30 is fairly old. You should upgrade anytime soon.
