WeTek Hub - 24p HD Netflix - HD Kodi Audio - 10bit HEVC - Lollipop - 4K
Here is new Android Marshmallow 6.0.1Development build firmware for WeTek Hub

WeTek Hub - Android MM 6.0.1 07.02.2017

What is new:

- Latest Android MM 6.0.1 changes from S905X backported to S905
- Few fixes in Kernel
- This build is fully compatible with Kodi v17 including fix for H.265 10 & 8bit playback

This build support dual-boot function, although it is not displaying on boot instructions for pressing Power button at RCU, but if you keep it pressed, for sure it will boot it to LibreELEC/OpenELEC.

** wrxtasy ** does a wee jig !!! Smile

Thx. Now we are getting somewhere. Yesterday's Popcornmix 64bit Kodi memleak fix for LibreELEC and now a Dual Boot capable Android MM update with the possibility of up to 4K - 7.1 DD+ Android TV OS Netflix.

Time to look at the Log and see if the backported IEC Audio code made it in as well.

Kodi Krypton 17.0 final which uses Android mediacodec Hardware acceleration.

- Kodi Dynamic Refresh Switching - Broken
- 8/10bit HEVC (H265) playback - Working
- Improvements in 1080/25i H264 deinterlacing. (TvHeadend) - PCM or HDMI (no Auto) must be selected in Android Audio settings.
- 1080/25i mpeg2 deinterlacing - Broken (TvHeadend) - 576i will default to high quality YADIFx2 Software deinterlacing.

SPMC 16.5.5:
Using amcodec & mediacodec acceleration options.

- Kodi Dynamic Refresh Switching - Broken - However you can select Resolutions and Refresh Rates from within SPMC.
(However doing that in SPMC that has its own problems with HDCP and my 4K TV setup)
- 8/10bit HEVC (H265) playback - Working
- H264 playback - Working
- Hardware deinterlacing for OTA TV viewing - Working with AC3 Audio passthrough.

- Easy Dual Boot Android/LibreELEC - Works ! - the proper Dual Boot screen shows up. Smile
There still is the erroneous NAND shown on the splash screen when it should be eMMC. Attention to detail is important !

- Netflix Android TV OS standard v3.3.2 - Works without modifications. 2.0 PCM Audio only with my DD+ capable TV.
HDMI connected AVR's I'm told will give 7.1 DD+ Audio output. Also 4K Netflix should now work as well.
(Mi Box gives me the the 5.1 Audio Icon in Netflix with a DD+ TV)

Further usage..and this Android MM Development Build has quite a few GUI non response issues at random times....but now after what looks like what must have been low level housekeeping after Firmware installation, its settled down into a reasonably quick platform.

- No IEC HD Audio Support ...just the normal Android API level 23: AC3, EAC3, DTS, DTS-HD support...

Tried it.

I also have a Xiaomi Mi 3 box with Android 6. It seems the MI has HDR video support while this one doesn't

Hi @wrxtasy

how did you manage to dual boot with the latest MM update? I can no longer boot kszaq's libreelec from sdcard.

I always get a "error in mount_flash: mount_common: could not mount /dev/mmcblk0p1"
Wetek Hub: LibreElec 8.0.0c
MK808B+: LibreElec 7.0.2.7
MXQ Pro 4k (S905): LibreElec 7.0.2.012j (Denon X1200W, 7.1 speakers, LG PF1500G)
Akaso HM8 (S905X): LibreElec 8.0.0c
Acer Revo 3610: Milhouse

That would be because the Mi Box has a S905X where as the Hub has a S905 with no HDR support on that particular SoC.

HDR really is not that important for AMLogic as the only properly encoded 4K HDR10 entertainment sources for the Mi Box are from Netflix. Which cannot be streamed until there is an Android Nougat update. Unless you like to watch HDR test clips on a repeat loop.

I think I ran into the same problem. I may have had kszaq's LE on a SD card and the Dual Boot Splash screen would not even show up.
Had me scratching my head for a while there.

I reflashed a SD Card with Raybuntu's 32bit Hub beta2 Kodi Krypton Final, from HERE

You could probably just do a LE .tar backup of your current @kszaq LE 32bit version. Reflash RB's 32bit image and restore the backup .tar

Thanks for the tip, raybuntu's release boots fine. But now the remote no longer works - apparently this is a bug introduced by switching from amremote to lirc.

Have you checked Programs > LibreELEC Configurator > Services I think it is.
There may be a Lirc enable switch in some versions that needs toggling.

Noted. I shoot 4K Video (photography buff) so I use the boxes to play them back.

Thanks for your support. I should have been more specific.

Yes, lirc is running and recognizes the remote. I can use the navigation and sound buttons, but the "ok" button is not recognised.

Found the source of my boot problem: I forgot to copy the correct device tree to the sdcard. Sad

just sigh,.. nothing else. when they'll learn that this is not enough to get the CUSTOMERS satisfied.

The last line is even just a LIE: see above, nothing fully compatible when for example kodi refresh rate switching is not working

Of course I read that but:
development or not...This issue is known since almost half a year.

AND btw: This does not change the fact being lied to when saying fully compatible bla

@lama0900 which issue is it you want sorted for almost 6 months ? I'm pretty happy with my play 2 frame rate switching works and so does HD audio. I am however using the unofficial android TV ROM but it's based on weos 1.3
