Skip forward / back causes video to break up
#1
Hi,

I have a Raspberry Pi 3 running the latest Kodi with a Media Portal backend running on a PC.

It all work fine, apart from a couple of problems.

One is, when watching a recording, the recording plays fine.

But if I skip forward or back or even pause the recording, once its playing again it will break up for a second or two every so oftern.

Mostly it will play fine, but with the occasional break up.

if I stop the playback and then resume it, it will then play back all the way with no issues.

Also, if I skip forward or back lots of times playback will struggle to the point where it will freeze, I then have to press stop ad play again.

(Note that I have skip forward to 30 seconds and back 15 seconds).

Any idea why this happens, or what I can do to fix it?

Thanks.

Are you using a recent kodi build? If you provide a sample recording that shows the issue I can have a look.

Yes I am using the latest nightly. Seemed to started with alpha 2. My issue with uploading a sample video is I only have limited internet. Will see what I can do.

Annoyingly, i cant seem to recreate the issue, im wondering if happens when recordings have bad signal issues (sometimes i have a poor freeview signal).

I'll post again when i find a problem recording.

Thanks.

Ok I have got somewhere now. The issue is dxva2 hardware acceleration. So might not be a kodi issue but the new amd drivers with crimson app.
