Personnaly do not care about what finally is the Kodi 18 name (even if it was Kodi 18 "LOL")

Forum members gave their opinions and kodi team made their choice

I have much more important thing in my life than a software codename...

There is nothing stopping the community from forking Kodi and calling it Kommi.
Then you can name release 18 as Lenin or whatever you collectively decide. Wink

Curious: If Kodi 18 is going to be named Leia, does that mean there will not be a Kodi 17? There still is no official v17 release. The official is still v16.1 Jarvis.

17 currently is on "release candidate 3"

The Kodi 17 code name is Krypton. We expect it to release pretty soon, as we are currently in the latest stages of the "alpha - beta - release candidate - release" process (RC3)
