Do I have to rename English.srt
#1
I have all of my movies in separate folders:
  • MyMovieName.mp4
  • movie.nfo
  • fanart.jpg
  • English.srt

I thought it used to work but now I see that I need to have the subtitle named MyMovieName.English.srt.

Is there any way to be able to use my subtitles with English.srt instead of having to rename them?

You can always manually choose them.

Why would you want to use English.srt and not MyMovieName-en.srt?

  • Well, when I hit T on my keyboard, or if I clik on the subtitle icon on the bottom of the screen, it doesn't give me the srt in a list... just an option to download. Is that to be expected?
  • Well, I already know what the movie is because I keep each movie in a separate folder... like poster, jpg, fanart.jpg.

I guess I can write a script to go through and rename them.

If you hit the audio icon you can choose a file, pita though.

See, that's the thing... it used to work that way, but now it doesn't detect the srt manually unless it's renamed <movie>.srt.

I don't mind it being a pita in that regard.
