I updated my mythtv to 0.28. After doing that my mythtv pvr stopped working. I updated it to 2.8.5 but I still can not get it to talk to the backend. Can someone give me a few more ideas of what i need to do?

Depending on what version of Kodi you are running it might be as simple as:
System->Settings->AddOns->My add-ons->PVR Clients->MythTV PVR Client->Update
It looks like pvr.mythtv 2.8.5 is the version for Kodi Isengard. Are you running Kodi Isengard or something else?
Try reading http://kodi.wiki/view/MythTV_PVR to see if that sheds any light on your problems. There are some common gotchas listed there which it might be worth looking into.
Otherwise, try posting a http://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file and maybe someone here will be able to provide more specific help for your problem.
