The Idea is this, if you have remote Media center/Storage container (nas,smb share,etc) . You can from within xbmc setup a offline queue. Whereas the plugin would copy down the select "stuff" (movies,images,music,etc) and setup a "new" offline library contenting only the locally accessible media.
I know this can be done my just copying the media to the local HD and setting up the library to clean and auto index everything it finds on startup. But this would just save a traveling person ALLOT of time (as it's easyer to search though your media in xbmc then though any explorer window).
