Nothing is ever really dead around here, the author might be on vacation, taking a break, involved in something more pressing. There's always the opportunity for someone else to take up the project. If you have a support question, there's many users that might be able to field your issue. If it's money that you wish to donate, then the Kodi project as a whole would be grateful.
