I am uncertain how the whole system works but I want to stream video in HD. I am using the Jarvis version of Kodi connected via HDMI to a TV which is capable of playing HD and which automatically adjusts its resolution when I play through a PC. Do I need another version of the Kodi player or an add on to play in HD?

If your source material is in HD, then Kodi will play it back to the TV in HD.

So it depends on quite what you are playing, and where you are getting it from.
