Martijn took the burden to talk to all vendors available to us to implement these standards properly with the user in mind (of course). He basically got all the "big vendors" to one table and things progress nicely. So - taking part is easy :-).
To emphasize on that: Kodi is fully vendor liberal, means: it does not matter to us _at all_ which vendor it is, if they implement standards we support them.
... oh trust me, I've rustled more than a few feathers on that front because I'm 100% in support of the furtherance of public api methods and nothing else.
I've been persona non grata because of it sometimes.
EDIT: That's perfect, because it's also the very next thing on my list regarding the push for the hopeful elimination of ridiculous hacks that circumvent standards.
