In case anyone doesn't know, 24Hz output is working again with the latest (September) firmware for FireTV 4K. You have to set resolution to "Auto" for it to work in the FireTV preferences and of course the appropriate screen refresh setting in KODI. To get it smooth, though, I had to switch Acceleration from Media Codec to Media Surface acceleration. Otherwise, it "hiccups" every so often. I can confirm this worked on the DTS capable "shitty" version of 17.4. Volume control (on non-passthrough) also still works in 17.3 and 17.4 (I had to change the remote control functions to get the FTV remote to change it; I set it to up/down in full screen).

I just bought a Sony XE90, I'm really sad they didn't fixed this problem yet. I installed the shitty version and it seems to works fine. What alternative do we have other than wait for Sony to fix it ? Does Shield TV have the same issue ?

I am experiencing an issue with my Philips ANDROID TV (shitty firmware).

They just updated to Android 7.0 (nougat) this week; considering no DTS I used to transcode to AC3 (AC3 bug has been finally fixed too recently).

Now since the update, Kodi does not transfer ANYTHING over passthrough. I get no sound at all when I launch a movie.

SPMC on the other hand works fine (AC3, DTS-transcoded) - tho I would much rather use kodi since I am having issues with SPMC (random sound dropouts every 2 minutes or so).

Anyone with a SONY/PHILIPS/MEDIATEK device experiencing the same?

I have a philips 6561 and had the same issues as you jinx. Fritsch has fixed this. Should be included in the next official version.

Why not use a Krypton nightly? http://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/android...bi-v7a.apk -> with those builds you get everything you paid for.

Will it be able to do DTS-HD and TrueHD?

log is below which lists those codecs but what do I know? As expected DTS/DD works in SPMC using IEC Passthrough. Haven' tried anything else.
