Yeah, it apparently can run openWRT, but is definitely for another purpose than a media player...
At Zidoo X9S modules from openWRT are fastened to the Android kernel though they advertize it as two systems.

quote, X9s have awesome network performce 100MB/s ! Eek never see before on ARM soc
LG OLED 55E8 - M9702(oppo 203) -  Dinobot U5PVR(Enigma 2) - Meccol KI pro(COREelec) - Sony PS5

Bit slow actually that 100MB/s, how about 116MB/s ~ 930Mbps on a 64bit ARM ODROID C2 - AMLogic S905 SoC
This is getting close to Maxiing out a Gigabit Ethernet connection. (125 MB/s = 1000 Mbps)

It actually depends on what server / client setup you are talking to as well.

Curiously the C2 is using a Realtek RTL8211F integrated Ethernet transceiver.

This is test http://jell.yfish.us/

5Ghz WI-Fi
Zidoo X9S maximum 25Mbps without freeze, while SHIELD 90Mbps without freeze, IconBit XDS74K 80Mbps without freeze!
On wire Zidoo X9S 160Mbps without freeze.
Check who has 5Ghz WiFi.

Over CAT5E wired, via my Synology NAS, it can actually do 300Mbps using native player. With ZDMC and internal player, 180Mbps. Your NAS and network affect bandwidth obviously.
I'll try the max available 400Mbps later today.
Also have a new APK from @mirror88 to test DVD menu support (folder and ISO). Had to borrow a DVD from my neighbor as I had zero retail DVDs left/saved at home.

Not available OTA, so must update via local if I recall correctly.

With native player, I don't get audio from any of these for example:
- Sony Camp
- Exodus and Life of Pi samples
- LG Daylight
- BT.2020.20140602.ts
