Realise you need proper DRM (copy protection) like Widevine Level 1 and Microsoft Playready to be able to play 720/1080/2160p(4K) Amazon Video and Netflix.
Netflix even had to give Approval to your hardware device.
You cannot simply add these things with a Firmware update. its impossible. Without the above, the best you will get is 480p Resolution video from Amazon and Netflix.
