I've read in Zidoo forum that the RTD1295DD SoC does not support HD audio decoding to Multichannel LPCM over HDMI. The same happens with the HiSilicon Hi3798C V200 found on HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro. Perhaps a Dune HD Solo 4K or a Popcorn A-500 player? I'm curious about that, but actually I don't need this feature.(2017-06-16, 12:23)drdwridav Wrote:(2017-06-16, 03:16)jarvismeier Wrote: I have both and the zidoo has excellent 3D performance... i find it better than the pi3. One caveat is if you have an older receiver and require multi-channel PCM then the zidoo is not your choice... it can only do 2.0 PCM.
Hi there. I only have an old Dolby 5.1 decoder with optical input so presume I'll be ok? I've converted all my rips to Dolby 5.1
It has no problem with passing through regular Dolby and DTS 5.1. There are some people who have older HDMI receivers that don't support DTSHD and TrueHD but still want HD audio via PCM conversion... the people in this group will need to find another player.
