Adding extra time at end of recordings
#1
The padding feature to add a few minutes to the end or beginning of a scheduled recording appears not to be implemented in the Vbox add-on. Broadcast programmes often don't work precisely to their scheduled times and the actual end time can extend past the scheduled end time. When will this feature be implemented?

Also, if you watch a recording of a programme that is still being broadcast, the end time is set based on the elapsed time of the broadcast so far. This is then not adjusted as the recording continues so the playback is then stopped when the elapsed time is reached which is quite frustrating. Again this inadequacy should ideally be addressed

Please open a ticket on https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.vbox/issues. I haven't had much interest in developing the addon lately but as long as there's an issue for it it won't be forgotten.

This is a general Kodi issue, it's been like this for years. There are no concrete plans to fix this particular issue, but there may be some improvements down the line since the video player is constantly being reworked and improved.

Hi @Branksome
Padding can be set on the VBox device - simply go to Streaming --> Manage recording and set the additional recording time option

Thanks Vbox. But you are forced to have the same amount of padding at the beginning of the recording as at the end. I have previously made a suggestion to the company that the user should be able to separately specify front and end padding. They say they have received similar requests and the more people ask for this the higher their priority becomes

By the way, the Vbox Android app also enables padding parameter to be set

All apps sets the padding on the VBox TV Gateway, so once you set padding on any of the VBox apps the VBox will add that padding to any recording regardless to were you set it
And yes we have received similar requests from other users and it is on our to do list, however I do not have an estimated release date for this feature
