OK,
Check your Android settings for the version of Android installed. Hopefully it is 4.2 or higher.
If so and it has the Play Store you're all set.
Uninstall the current version of Kodi you have installed and search for Kodi in the Play Store and install that.
If it's running an older version of Android you may run into issues.
