kodi add on couldn't be loaded
#1
Hi
Today I installed a Hauppage WinTV driver update.
When I launched the TV module I get an error message ' add on couldn't be loaded' and ' PVR manager is starting up' ( stuck at 0%). I rolled driver back, but now keep getting this error.
Went to add ons' to try and uninstall and reinstall next PVR add on, but no uninstall option. It's greyed out. How can I reset ? Any help appreciated. Ps. next PVR works fine on its own. Thanks

Restart the NPVR Recording Service (to reset the logs), then reproduce the problem and post the kodi.log (with debug logging enabled) and the NextPVR logs, and I'll take a look.

Sorry, that's not the NextPVR log I'm looking for. I was after web.log and nrecord.log. Use NextPVR's "zip my logs and show me where they are" button, and supply the zip file of all the logs.

Best bet is to restart the recording service, so that the logs are set, then reproduce the problem and repost those logs, so I know it's the most recent thing in the logs.

If you open http://127.0.0.1:8866 in your browser, do you see the web interface?

No. I get a ' this site can't be reached 127.0.0.1 refused to connect
Try
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall

Do you just have the one machine with Kodi and NextPVR installed, or are you trying to use separate machines?

Intriguingly, I have it on PC downstairs whose logs you've seen where I can't get the pvr add on to work or that web address, but UPSTAIRS I have a PC with same set up, version etc where it does work ( ex guide that isn't set up) and that web address takes me to the web interface fine.
I don't use the upstairs one much. Just tried launching Kodi now upstairs and first thing I got was a windows firewall pop up. I selected private network not public. The one downstairs did this also after the reinstall.
Not sure if this is relevant but fyi.

Are we getting warmer to the problem?
Many thanks again for your help

I have a HDHR Connect and 2 Windows 7 PCs with Kodi Krypton Beta 3 installed.

One of the PCs work perfectly with the NextPVR add-on and can watch live TV without issue. On the 2nd PC, the NextPVR add-on refuses to load. I have uninstalled/deleted all references to Kodi on this 2nd PC and reinstalled a fresh copy of Beta 3 and same result. NextPVR just bombs out.

Taking another look at your logs, it looks like you have unticked the 'enable web server' option on the Settings->Clients screen. This needs to be left enabled for Kodi to function.

Do you have NextPVR installed on that second PC too, or are you wanting to use the working NextPVR on that first PC?

You local show you have the NextPVR addon configured to connect to NextPVR on the same PC. I'm guessing that's not what you intended, and you need to go into the addon settings and set the hostname setting to the name or IP address of the machine that is running NextPVR.

If you had intended to have NextPVR also running on that machine (which seems pointless if you've already got another machine with NextPVR), then post the NextPVR logs and I'll take a look.

Hi again
I checked this morning and yes, I note it was unchecked ( I think I was trying all sorts of options to get it to work!). I re-checked the box but still got the same issue.

I've attached the error logs again here:

http://dropcanvas.com/03t46

Also - not sure if this is relevant, but I note 2 MAC addresses on this screen. (see screen grab at link)

Thanks for your continued investigations for me.

It's still not enabled in that most recent log you posted. Did you remember to restart the recording service after ticking it?
