Intel Kaby Lake Hardware
@movie78, maybe this was addressed before, but how are you toggling between 3D MVC and 4K playback? HDMI 1.4 port for former, and 2.0 port for latter? I assume you can set separate resolutions for each, but use the Kodi MVC build for both? Just wondering how you have your BeeBox set-up, with HDMI to your AVR and to your display.

and

QSVEncC64.exe -i SVT_1080p50.mkv -c hevc --vbr 5000 -o result.mkv
instead of
QSVEncC64.exe -i SVT_1080p50.mkv --vbr 5000 -o result.mkv

The test was base on latest @afedchin MVC Kodi Build.

1- Setting the Adjust display refresh rate On Start / Stop and the Sync Playback to display to On, my TV does the toggle automatically when I am playing 3D the TV will switch to 1920X1080p 24Hz and when I am playing 4K ( HDR/Dolby Vision) the resolution on my TV change 3840X2160p.

2- I was using the HDMI 1.4, I will try the 2.0 port tonight, but I have a feeling it is not going to work.

3- For now it's connected straight to the TV as I am in the middle of moving so all AV equipment is in my new location.

Which one do you want me to test?
QSVEncC64.exe -i SVT_1080p50.mkv -c hevc --vbr 5000 -o result.mkv?

yes
QSVEncC64.exe -i SVT_1080p50.mkv -c hevc --vbr 5000 -o result.mkv

Without -c hevc I think the default will be AVC and not HEVC

So it should be like this in the Test.bat file ?

PHP Code:
QSVEncC64.exe --check-features features.txt
QSVEncC64
.exe -i SVT_1080p50.mkv -c hevc --vbr 5000 -o result.mkv
ffmpeg
-i SVT_1080p50.mkv -i result.mkv -lavfi ssim;[0:v][1:v]psnr -f null - > metrics.txt

yes, should be good like that, if you have all files in the same folder. (QSVEncC64.exe, ffmpeg.exe, SVT_1080p50.mkv and Test.bat)

Sorry last line of test.bat must be

ffmpeg -i SVT_1080p50.mkv -i result.mkv -lavfi ssim;[0:v][1:v]psnr -f null - > metrics.txt 2>&1

with 2>&1 at the end

I have both hdmi ports connected to my denon av receiver. I use the hdmi 1.4 connection for 3d and 2160p up to 30hz. If I want to playback 2160p with 60hz I switch at my receiver to the input where the hdmi 2.0 is connected with my Beeboox. When doing this I need to turn off the other display in Windows to avoid stuttering.

I always use the same Kodi MVC build.
