I am having an issue with pvr.wmc freezing when skipping ahead. It only happens on HD wtv files that are large. I first noticed it last week when watching an SNL recording, I have the recording starting early and a long padding on the end due to sporting events that sometimes delay the start of the show. This morning I had the same issue and the only recovery was restarting the Fire TV, subsequent playback and skip forward yielded the same results. I copied the file to my laptop and played it back fine in VLC and WMC so I'm sure the recording is not the issue. My server is quite fast (quad core XEON) the OS drive is 4SSD's in Raid 10, the recording drive is 4 2TB WD's drive in Raid 10. The LAN is 1 GB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm available for troubleshooting as needed.

If its just a porblem playing a wtv file, its likely a kodi problem and not a serverwmc/pvr problem. To test this, just have kodi play the wtv file directly and see if you get the same problem.

I can go to video, files and select the SNL recording and there are no issues. I have my skip forward set to 30 seconds and I can skip 30 seconds at the time through the entire episode and there are no issues. Even when pressing skip forward faster than it can process, it still recovers quickly and does not hang. Playing from TV/recordings and skipping forward will result in a lockup requiring me to restart the Fire TV. The lockup seems to always happen midway or towards the 2/3rds mark in the video. At the beginning of the video I can't get it to lockup.

And you did this on the fire tv right? Does it happen on any large file? I will try the same on my fire tv.
Also please post your serverwmc log on pastebin so I can look at how you have it configured.

Is it possible to roll back ServerWMC to 1236? To my knowledge this is the only change I have made to my system. I'm having to restart the Fire TV constantly due to lockups when skipping forward past commercials.Even if ServerWMC is not the issue this would help me isolate the problem.

I think to go back to an earlier version you have to uninstall serverwmc first, then manually install the version you want from the website. Your configuration of serverwmc should be retained.

Thanks for your help on the issue krustyreturns. I rolled back WMCSerever and the lockup issue persisted. I then started looking at Kodi settings and found that I had the skip delay under video settings set to 0ms. I bumped this up to 500ms and it completely resolved the issue. I am now able to skip forwards and backwards through videos with no issues!

I really wasn't much help - you figured it out. I really couldn't see why the swmc version could make a difference or even how swmc could be affecting this problem at all. Nice to know the universe works the way it is supposed to.
