stuttering with deinterlacing, actual bug
#1
Hi all

I've seen there's a couple of issues raised in regards to this, but to my amateur eye there's some misunderstandings going on.
Just to recap for those joining late, we're talking about stuttering that is IRRESPECTIVE of network. Yes, it would be normal to assume it's a 'stupid user' problem. However, it doesn't happen on 'live tv' streams (only on recordings), and it is instantly fixed if deinterlacing is turned off. If that's a stupid user problem, then it's a more complicated one than 'not enough local bandwidth'.

Here's tvh addon closed bug: https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.hts/issues/186

Here's kodi trac (note, this is viewed as WAN related, and apparently won't be fixed any time soon... no deinterlacing mentioned) http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16915

I assume the developer closing the ticket would know why the two are related, but if they are then I'm concerned about the missing information in the kodi trac ticket.
If the dev doesn't know that the two are related, or it's different behaviours, then let's open that up talk about it and figure out where that's going to be fixed.

So does anyone here know anything about this? I've tried various venues to broach this. My goal isn't to complain, but to make sure that we don't wait a whole version to find out, OH there was two bugs, sorry, it's going to be another year. I don't think that would be good for anybody.

thanks
