Release Odeon Video Addon (Spanish)
#1
Hello,

ODEON is the video-on-demand platform of Argentine Cinema where you will find the best local content: films, series, documentaries and shorts for all likes.

It's available as a video addon in the official kodi repo.

All content is free but it may be geoip blocked.

Enjoy.

Hi, it doesn’t appear to ask for any PIN.

Here you go: unfortunately the add-on is not fully working. When accessing the cine.ar site (this is the official addon for that site) from a desktop linux pc, content can be browsed and then played back. When attempting the same on a kodi HTPC on the same network as the said desktop pc, login works, content browsing works, but content playback fails everytime. It's a pity b/c the content looks great and the addon has potential - hoping it will be fixed. Cheers

I've tested the addon and it is working as usual.
lease, can you provide us the error log, the Kodi platform you are using, the name of the movie and if you are in Argentina or abroad?
Thank you.

@enderf

I tested this in two different Kodi installs. Both are running on Linux / Intel PCs. They are not raspberries. Both show the same problem.

Here's one of them (desktop PC)

NOTICE: Starting Kodi from RPM Fusion (17.6 Git:Unknown). Platform: Linux x86 64-bit
NOTICE: Using Release Kodi x64 build
 NOTICE: Kodi compiled Nov 18 2017 by GCC 7.2.1 for Linux x86 64-bit version 4.13.12 (265484)
NOTICE: Running on Fedora 27 (Workstation Edition), kernel: Linux x86 64-bit version 4.15.13-300.fc27.x86_64
 NOTICE: FFmpeg version/source: 3.3.6
 NOTICE: Host CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 8 cores available

Trying to play "La Mala Verdad (2010)".

In the Desktop PC - Firefox v59, on Fedora 27. Playback works just fine. I'm in Canada so I guess geo-blocking does not apply to this item - it plays fine.

In the same PC, running Kodi, trying to play the same content: it doesn't play, Kodi stays spinning the wheel for some 20 seconds and then it errors out saying "Odeon - Cannot reproduce, try later"

Here's a kodi log snippet: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/DJrhjvwcQv/

This error stands out alone:
Quote: ERROR: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: Timeout was reached(28) for https://5393958088117.streamlock.net/ode...u8?t=eyJhb...............

I can see that the addon retries a few times and finally gives up.

Both Kodi installs play streaming (youtube, hdhomerun in-house streaming, and anything else I throw at it) with no issues.

If the log doesn't tell what the problem is, if you are the addon developer and your workstation is on Windows, if at all possible could you try your addon inside a linux virtualmachine (e.g. virtualbox, with any recent linux distro e.g. ubuntu 17.10), I'm guessing you will be able to reproduce the issue

The streamlock.net service is part of Wowza Media Server. Sometimes there is a time-out. Perhaps it has to do with https, since we never see this on other browsers. As far as I see it, there is little to do from the plug-in side. The new version uploaded today includes an explicit call (GET) to the smil file before handle control to the Kodi player. I have seen this problem randomly and it is very hard to reproduce and debug.

There is a new version of this plugin (Cine.ar Play, formerly known as Odeon) for Matrix
https://kodi.tv/addons/matrix/plugin.video.cinear

Enjoy!
