How is the original random seed chosen when playing in party mode ?

I know its random but some songs do seem to appear an awful lot in comparison to other songs which never seem to get chosen at all

its the usual how random is random question

Which version of Kodi? I know that something to do with initialising the randomizer was added as a fix in v17, so earlier versions may not have behaved as randomly as they should. But sorry don't have time to dig into the code to see what method is used etc.
