Hi Milhouse,

thank you very much for your work! I've got one request: Could you modify the driver for RTL 8814AU to include the device id 0bda:8813 which is for EDUP EP-AC1621?

Thank you very much!
I am wondering if anyone has any issues with video calibration not being saved properly? I keep having to readjust on every reboot and every update, since months now. It's always slightly off, see attached screenshot where I did an overlay of before and after adjustment. Top left corner was adjusted a bit to the top and left and lower right corner was adjusted to the top and left minimally.

@Milhouse

I don't think this is the issue as well and I am starting to pull my hair out over this.

I have a CLEAN kodi directory with the following modifications. MySQL server version is Server version: 5.7.19-0ubuntu0.16.04.1-log (Ubuntu) from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

advancedsettings - https://www.dropbox.com/s/jah0qfapg0vjme...s.xml?dl=0
sources - https://www.dropbox.com/s/q3a9whn0e7biif...s.xml?dl=0
keymap - https://www.dropbox.com/s/surab7amxp5m8j...d.xml?dl=0

Debug Log - https://www.dropbox.com/s/td3t01nrmy33ptq/kodi.log?dl=0 (Sorry pastebinit is giving 500 errors)

Texturecache is below showing the S04E02 is toggled to playcount of 1 but the show is nowhere near finished and should have just only done resume and kept playcount 0. Sources are NFS based and DB is MySQL but I am not sure how this is happening on a clean Kodi system playing the data even with a new MySQL DB.

If only it were that simple. The current RTL8812AU driver from the paspro repository isn't able to build the RTL8814AU driver (build errors, looks like RTL8814AU support is incomplete - files missing, Makefile errors etc.).

In order to add RTL8814AU support it will mean waiting until the errors are fixed in the paspro repo (which may never happen), or switching to another repo such as the v5.1.5 driver from the aircrack-ng repo.

Please start a new thread on the LibreELEC forum. Switching driver repository is not a step to be taken lightly - it might fix your problem, but cause others for existing users.

Did you check what Kodi thinks the runtime should be?
Code:
texturecache.py Jd tvshows nation @extrajson.tvshows.episode=playcount,resume,runtime,streamdetails

You may have both runtime and streamdetails.video.duration.

Other than that, I would suggest starting a separate thread as it may catch the eye of a developer that knows more about this. I'm really sure this is not something specific to these LibreELEC builds.

Looks like they are all the same as resume.total.

What sub-forum do you recommend I create a thread on this for a DEV to look into?
HTPC(s): All running LibreELEC
  • AMD 2200G APU on Gigabyte AB350N-Gaming WIFI-CF
  • RPI3 x2 | RPI2 x2
NAS: FreeNAS (Latest Stable) | NFS/CIFS

I'd post it in OS Independent: https://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=228

thank you very much for your work! I've got one request: Could you modify the driver for RTL 8814AU to include the device id 0bda:8813 which is for EDUP EP-AC1621?

Thank you very much!

At least for me the 8814au driver from this repo builds under x86_64. In the evening I can try to build it on RPi3. Could you try that one, too?

Now try cross-compiling it for arm. The aircrack-ng driver cross-compiles RTL8814AU without a problem. I'll try that in tomorrow night's build, let's see what else is broken.

Hi Popcornmix & Milhouse,
I noticed there were some updates to HEVC, so I tried them out.
After this improvement, I have now run out of high quality test files; both of the highest quality setting videos I use:-
1920x808 (Letter box) at 24fps 47mbs  and 1920x1080 31fps 14mbs now play without any stuttering, you do realise I'll have to go and makes some even higher quality versions now ;-)
The improvements in HEVC you have managed are astounding.
Thank you,
Kevin.

I would imagine the recent performance improvement may also help keep temperatures in check, too.
