v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
(2018-11-24, 02:43)Luck Wrote: Good evening, I have a problem with the beta. If I watch iptv and after a few hours watching a movie by emby, LibreELEC responds very slowly and the RAM is consumed up to about 50mb. Either it freezes or it restarts. I have the problem at least once a day. The problem exists even if I watch iptv in the morning and would like to keep watching in the evening. Then I have the problem too. Why is that? Do you have an idea? Very sorry for my Bad English

Test with a clean .kodi installation, without any additional third-party addons installed - do you still have the problem? If you don't have this problem with only the addons provided with this build then it's likely an issue with your third party addons (Emby etc.).

Can you tell when this issue started? How long have you been using these test builds - is this a new problem? Or are you a new user?

You can run bcmstat.sh -ZAD -d30 which will monitor memory usage and help confirm if memory is being "leaked". You should also post the link to journalctl -a | pastebinit to see if Kodi is being killed by the OOM process killer.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

This sounds something like what I reported before here https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2757921
I use emby but for that test i started with a fresh install and scanned in all the movies and tv shows using kodi's own scrapper. After everything was scanned in just the act of playing movies and tvshows over several hours causes kodi to freeze when the free memorey get to around 50 to 60. I did eventually catch it before a freeze and it was kodi.bin using all the memory. The problem is when it freezes you can not connect to the ssh server to run any commands. I got around the problem by using the addon embycon instead which streams the media without it being added to the kodi video database like kodi does or the main emby addon. As my movie and tv collection gets bigger the time it takes to get to the point that kodi freezes gets shorter.
@Milhouse
I'm testing your 22/23 Nov RPi2 Build coming from LE 17.6 (8.2.5), but I'm having an issue that my YouTube Add-on Watched History is wiped clean.

This thing does not happened when I last tested the 3 Nov RPi2 Build
@Milhouse Thank you PS1 are working with the bios now on the last nightly !

Do not hesitate when you have information about fbalpha !

@Milhouse I updated to #1122 and I'm still seeing the lightning bolt occasionally, so I guess I'll have to get a new PSU. This one was fine with my RPI2 so I'll just power that with it, once I decide what to use it for.
Rpi3b requires little bit more juice than rpi2

Believe the 3b psus is 2.5a.

Hi, I have issue with #1123 build with 9.0 channel. Can't load any new addons.
New installation, install subtitles => opensubtitles etc. fail. However! if I install first clean LE 8.2.5, install subtitles addon, update to #1123 milhouse.. than it is still listed as working, can't add any other addons though.

Also "lightning bolt" very frequently even in menu despite 3A power.

Ideas?

Lightning bolt is a sign for low voltage, not low current. Issue is probably related to the USB cable (length, quality), or a slight under-voltage of the power adapter itself. 4,8V 3A for example will cause Same issue. Official Raspberry Foundation power adapters usually work.
Got new charger lightning bolt only occasionally shows on load. However even with #1124 NEW addons fail to install. Cant even install log uploader.

Make sure to fix your power supply problems first. Which charger did you get? If by charger you mean a typical phone/tablet charger then it's probably not up to the job. Get the official RPi power supply (5.1V, 2.5A), this is known to work well.
The lightning bolt should be taken as a serious warning sign - if the RPi isn't powered properly all sorts of odd errors may occur, including data corruption on the SD card, crashes etc. It could well be that addons failing to install is a consequence of your power supply problems.

so long,

Hi,

libretro game addons have recently started to work again - thanks for that work. I'm able to use the snes9x core, fore example.
However I'm having issues with the ScummVM libretro core. With build #1124 the addon can't be started, the kodi log shows an undefined reference:

13:32:31.637 T:1937841696   DEBUG: ADDON: Dll Initializing - ScummVM

13:32:31.638 T:1937841696   DEBUG: Loading: /storage/.kodi/addons/game.libretro/game.libretro.so.1.1.0

Not sure if the addon needs another rebuild?

P.S.: For some reason I find two versions of the ScummVM addon: 2.0.0.108 and 2.0.0.0.109. I believe the latter is the newer one, but kodi tries to auto-update to the 108 version, I guess since it's the "newer" numerically. The issue described above happens with both versions.

Regards,

Letting the MediaPortal folks know would be best, either via the forum or github (whatever they prefer). Thanks for tracking it down, that should help them fix the issue (assuming it's a MP problem, of course)...
I have reported this, but no response as yet.

The strange thing is, beta and RC versions on Windows are fine, so perhaps it is something about the way the streaming interacts with the player. If so, perhaps there is another possible fix? Happy to provide any information you want in order to get this resolved.
Good day, I've been there for several months and test the beta, in the beginning it worked without problems and since 1 month approx. I have these problems. I had done a re-installation and installed my addons, which were only emby. I try today in the course of the day times to use the pi without emby and see if it happens then. I have inserted the link for you.
