v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
Hi

I noticed a disturbing bug, when starting a video the OSD won't disappear. The problem started appear in build #1213 and haven't been fixed in #1216x.
I have been having problems seeing video/audio with the occasional H264 recorded video files via PVR (mythtv backend). This seems to affect about 1 in 10 HD video recordings made from BBC1 HD in the UK. It has been hanging around for a couple of months or so and causing great frustration when I come to get my weekly strictly fix. Mythfrontend plays them fine as does mediaplayer (on an x86 gentoo linux box)

This was intermittent on one of my RPi machines. I identified a power supply issue fixed by swapping USB leads. Recently I found a 100% repeatable file on both clients so thought I'd try again....

The problem seems to relate to RPi de-interlace as changing interlace once 'playback' has started, causes the video/audio to appear.
When I play the same file via UPNP or NFS shared drive I don't get the problem; video appears immediately.

All I can think is that something is 'slower' when starting playback via PVR which causes videoplayer/deinterlace to take a different (broken) path.

Scenario: Select the recorded file from the list of recordings and select 'play' from the context menu.
Results: 'playing' icon shows with elapsed time starting to count, but fullscreen video never appears.
To get video: via sidebar, select fullscreen video, then press select and via video settings adjust de-interlace (to any available setting).
Kodi shows 'seeking' for a short period, then playback commences (flawlessly!)

I've tried with OMX acceleration enabled (my preferred solution), and only MMAL acceleration enabled - no difference
I've tried disabling the demuxer in pvr.mythtv - no difference
I've tried pausing and re-starting fullscreen video and skipping forward/back and fastforward/rewind - no video appears
I tried setting de-interlace to 'off' by default. Same issue.
Only changing deinterlace method once 'playback' has started causes any video to appear.

While investigating the problem to produce a debug log with the latest millhouse build for this post I installed #1216 which seemed to reset some of my settings? I deleted and re-installed my local pvr.mythtv install (wasn't compatible with #1216).
I was seeing it 100% repeatably using one particular file with Libreelec 7.90.009 and #1202 but now it won't happen anymore.
(I also did a mythtv channel scan and server reset although I'm sure I've reset the server since first seeing this)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining that it seems to be fixed by a server reboot, a settings reset and replacement of the addons/pvr.mythtv directory, but someone else might be having similar frustrations and I'd already written most of the post!

Is this with stock Estuary?

dear milhouse, what is to write in config.txt on SDcard, that my Pi start in 1080P@50Hz?
...it apears always desktop@60Hz on TVscreen.

Any chance to rebuild this terrible mouse-handling at this 18-builds since beginning?

Thank You

I'd normally look it up on http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt but that site seems to be offline right now. I'm sure popcornmix will know.

Which is the first build with this mouse issue - was it #1130 (first Kodi 18-build), or was it #1123 (first build with Estuary v2, but still technically Kodi 17), or was it an earlier build? I thought this mouse issue started with Estuary v2. Do you have mouse issues with other third party skins (eg. Confluence) when using these Kodi 18 builds?

milhouse -since #1123 (first build with Estuary v2, but still technically Kodi 17) we have this (skin' )problem.

ok - google have some located in his cache - my location for this file:

I'm sorry if i'm stupid or if I miss something, but it looks like my messages are transparents ?

Could somebody, please, test those files (even in not 3D mode, as Kodi can do it) and tell me if subtitles are ok (1 : displayed just once, 2 : can web switched off) ?

Thank you very much for the few seconds necessary.

and annoter one a bit longer, to let you change parameters without always having to pause : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6548...sample.mkv

The movie contains two audio tracks (ENG, FRE) and two subtitles (ENG, FRE). Try to activate subtitle, then switch it off : they're still there.

Has anyone tested the files I created?

Thank you.
After update on #1216 NFS connection to my NAS server lost (I think at least) because there are no movies and mp3 plays. Also no more connection via PuTTy (SSH) and FileZilla

That sounds like the RPi network connection isn't working - are you using wired or WiFi? Can you check the system information page for your network details to see if you're still connected to the network. Can you ping the device? Do you have this problem with #1215, or is it only #1216?

No you're not stupid/transparent, it's just that people are only able to investigate issues when they have the time (and although this is "my" thread I don't post replies unless I've got something to add - others are no doubt the same). In short - thanks for the reminder, but please be patient...

Certainly.

Sorry @Milhouse, I was a little overreached ...
My devolo PowerLine adapter somehow lost the connection, I've never had that before, so I'm not understand what going on...

I have reset all adapters, everything is good again

Hi, I'm having issues with https requests with latest builds.

I'm not sure why. Only happens with libreelec.

Any idea why? Has there been a change with some ssl configuration?

Thanks

thx Herr Meier ;-)

....but this would'nt help - display appears always with desktop@60Hz after reboot or new start.
