You can find a driver for this chipset and build LibreELEC yourself, that might work, until the next kernel bump when your driver will almost certainly be very badly broken.

I don't think we'll be adding any additional Realtek driver support with new out-of-tree drivers - the longer term plan is to drop them all and switch to the in-kernel WiFi drivers. So as far as LibreELEC official support is concerned, there isn't likely to be any for the 8812BU at this point in time, but maybe with LE10.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Thanks for the response milhouse, I've had nothing but problems with realtek dongles, so sending this one back and will try one with a ralink chipset instead.
I'd like to use to internal one on the rpi3 but the signal quality is awful..
Do you have any recommendations for a good wifi dongle for the pi3?

Kindest Regards

The official Raspberry Pi WiFi adapter and slightly more expensive WiPi adapter have good in-kernel driver support (based on BCM43143), the only possible downside is that they're both 2.4Ghz only (and sold out at the first link I could find!)

The problem with making recommendations particularly with the cheap WiFi dongles is that it's difficult to know what chipset any particular product is using this week - some dongles have been known to change chipset mid-production without changing the model number, and the new chipset may not work as well (or at all) as the old chipset.

This RPi wiki page has details about various dongles and adapters that work with Raspbian, but as a rule of thumb I'd just avoid anything based on Realtek.

Thanks for your advise, I've ordered a couple of different ones, one broadcom and one ralink, hopefully ill have some luck..

Thanks again..

Kodi always crashes when entering "PVR & Live TV" --> "Client specific settings". Seem to be specific to LibreELEC (RPi2?), can't reproduce this on Ubuntu PC.

Crashlog

Your crashlog is not from my build - can you reproduce the crash using my #1216? Your build seems to be crashing in pvr.vdr.vsni. Knowing the build (mine! Smile) when the crash started might help narrow it down.

Yes, I can reproduce it with your builds, including #1216. Not sure when this started though. I noticed the issue a couple of weeks ago but it could be much older because I rarely use "Client specific settings" menu.
The PVR client is VDR VNSI.
Well, "3D not working" ... let's a little more specific on this issue. ;-)
Current version is #1216 on RPi3, I use only .MKV and .ISO files for testing (the samples provided at http://kodi.wiki/view/Samples).
My results so far:
ISO-full3D-sample.iso (plays 3D)

HSDB-3D.mkv (plays 3D)
HTAB-3D.mkv (plays 2D)
3D-full-MVC.mkv (plays 2D)

Renaming the non-working MKV files according the video naming rules (http://kodi.wiki/view/3D) didn't change anything.

So what's the difference of these three .MKV files above:
The working MKV file's video stream has set the flag "Video stereo mode" to "1", meaning side by side/left eye first,
but for the other two files there was nothing.
So I changed both file's video stream flags (using mkvtoolnix/header editor on Windows):
HTAB-3D.mkv - "Video stereo mode" to "3" (top bottom/left eye first)
3D-full-MVC.mkv - "Video stereo mode" to "13" (both eyes laced in one block/left eye first)
... and that fixed it.
So on my end 3D MVC .iso playback is working as usual but all 3D .mkv's need to be tagged properly.

@garbear: Didnt find this in the release notes, but the "ps3 controller always is mapped to player 1 AND player 2" bug is solved with the release 1207. I can play GB, NES, SNES, and Arcade Games with the PS3 controller! AWESOME - thank you for the christmas present!

@Milhouse: to play Arcade games, I had to change the extension handling for .zip files. Can you maybe add this to your builds so other people will also benefit from it?
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2562983

Best way would be to change it in master of course, but I have no idea how complicated this might be.

I suspect that will cause problems for people playing video ISOs, or music cue files, so it's not something I'll add to these builds just yet as it's a very specific fix/workaround for gamers which may have unwanted side effects for non-gamers.

Okay thanks! Maybe we should think about an extended playback option ("Start Emulations") instead of "Play" so one could start the game without the advanced settings.xml

I don't want to clutter the context menu. The proper solution is a parser.

I've added this to me List of v18 goals, but there's so much work left for the Player Manager that I may not get to this before Leia.
