v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
SMB2/3 are both more efficient/better performing (and more secure) than SMB1.

SMB3 should in theory give best results.

I am getting a large memory leak while playing HEVC, it's worse with higher quality/bitrate files.
System Log and Crash log at:-

Full log extracted from logging directory https://www.dropbox.com/s/bgz6o72to1fb9t...5.zip?dl=0
I did enable debug logging for the most recent crash.
I am using a Pi3, I only tend to use your x builds, so this is with the latest 20180115215804-#0115x.
As an example, I started with memory reporting 592468K by the time I get the crash there is only 51500K being reported, this can be as quick as 5mins.
I could not log in using ssh once everything locks up, had to power off, could not reboot.
Let me know if you would like any other info.
Kevin.
I play hevc files most days without issue so I don't think it's likely to be a memory leak in hevc.
The crash log looks to be python related so I'd guess it may be an addon.
Can you rename .kodi to .kodi_back and reboot so you start without any addons/custom settings. Play a file that crashes - same issue or not?
@Milhouse FYI ref the service.tvheadend42 updates you were providing name aligned with nightly builds last year Here

I noticed that specific service.tvheadend42 addon folder (last modified status) is nightly updated, however no new files have been included since end of 2017.
(not desperately concerned, just thought useful to report)

Sort the web folder listing by date - the default is to sort by filename. Maybe I'll just delete the 2017 tvheadend builds as this is obviously confusing people, or I'll include the year in the filename.

Edit: Problem solved - I've created a 2017 folder and moved the 2017 files into it.

Hi
I have the problem that the visualization present while playing music isn't be saved. Can someone confirm that?

Beside this I could believe that there must be easier way for ARM  instead pulling a recovery file because ChromeOS will update libwidevine from time to time too.

Whoops missed those particular posts and never realised it was just a sort issue, I had been using consistent sort order which caught me out...thanks @Milhouse apologies for noise again.

Hi Popcornmix,
I've tried what you suggested, no difference at all? :-(
What I am getting is if I play the attached file, which was created with handbrake, nothing fancy I don't think.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i1xq6n68lgtskw...s.mkv?dl=0
Starting with about 30% memory usage, after playing it twice, I'm up to 50%, 4 times 70%, 6 times 85%, soon after it'll lock up.
The lower the quality/bitrate, the longer it takes to lock up.
It's only a minute long, but a high quality/bit rate, it plays fine, while it's playing. :-)
I am using Milhouses x build so 20180115215804-#0115x-gcd45cd6 is the current one, if that makes a difference.
Hope it helps, if not let me know what else I can try.
Thanks Kevin.

I confirm the issue, there is definitely a memory leak. After each viewing, the kodi.bin process will use more and more memory until LE completely locks up.
