v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
Did anyone notice in recent builds a very annoying speed increase when navigating in a folder using "up" and "down" arrow keys? For example, when I press and hold a "down" key the the files would scroll up at a turbo speed. Same issue with TV channel list.

Also, the DVD/BD playability issues that were introduced in build #0127 are still there and they are totally RPi-specific.

I gave it a quick test with a sample the other day, and it seemed to play fine on a non-overclocked PI3, albeit all 4 cores seemed to be maxed out. I tried an older test encode from over a year ago that I remember I had done using "fastdecode" flag, and CPU usage was down at like 30%. So I assume it's still a thing, but I'm not sure if it was just related to the test-sample I did without fastdecode and that a different movie/sample might perform better.
I think you'll be fine with any sane options. Might be worth running bcmstat.sh when playing the file.
If 4 cores are maxed I suspect we haven't even triggered turbo mode and the arm cores are running at 600MHz.

Yes, i can confirm this problem is also available with cec navigation (not so hard), but handling with mouse or keypad .....grrr ;-) ...unable to handle
...wrote over this today and last week in terrible english, sorry.

Same problem here when navigating in a folder, and when I start a movie and move the mouse, the movie plays in super speed.

Went back to 8.2.3, and everything works smooth.

The scrollbar (video/audio) is moving/shifting if i touch the mouse.

Harald

edit: back to 8.2.3 and this all will work fine on both pi.

I'll drop the libinput changes.

Thanks that is good to know.
@J_E_F_F would be good to confirm if your hevc issue is fixed.
It fails to grab an IP (builtin wifi) so I can't test it, and need to figure out a way to get working firmware back on it, since my Win box didn't see the partitions and I can't connect to it remotely now.

Can you plug in an ethernet cable?
Can you insert the sdcard into a different PC or sdcard reader? (this should just work and show the boot partition).

Tried that, 3 computers, 2 USB adapters and SD adapters, all fail, it wants to format the card. This may have happened last week when I repartitioned the drive (gparted through liveCD) so I could run the debug builds. Huge pain, but I am finally back up, had to use a chromebook, that is the only thing that could see the drive(s) and I uploaded the current start and fixup files, still had to go in and reconfigure the wireless. Oddly enough, I could not upload into the .upload folder (whole build) from the chromebook, perhaps it sees it as locked.
I'm on the network and up again though. I'll give it another shot.
Second time through, no issues, got an IP and no crashes overclocked playing hevc content. The requested fixup.dat and start.elf are running ontop of #0312
