v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
Hi there. Sorry for the stupid question, but how do I write a tar file to the sd card? I have win32 diskimager but its not picking it up?

Thanks

Bod
Hi,
put it on the update folder in your SD Card and reboot the pi.

Please, read the first Side here - there are some answers for your question. ;-)

You can also make the update over "update channel" Milhouse9 in settings/libreelec/System -> user defined channel 1: http:/milhouse.libreelec.tv/builds/master/RPi2 ...(without the "/" on the end!)
and your Kodi updates manuel or automatic.
Have a look to available versions vor manual installations.

Cheers
I've changed the image setting on win32 and copied the files over, however its not working on any of my Pi's? Any advice?

Thanks
I just saw your reply sorry. I'll build a new image and stick it in that folder Smile
have a look to:
https://libreelec.tv/downloads/

After install a clean build and after the first start with all blabla and the first reboot you can put this file over network in the update folder with your Windows PC.
...or you makes the settings in Libreelec like my post above.

It seems the network is down? Is it only me, or am i the only one not being able to download the latest build?

 Are there any mirrors?

Sorry - our service provider performed some security updates on our web server earlier today which resulted in some down-time. Should be back to normal now.

Tar files are not suitable for writing to the SD card - you need an img file. I would recommend using the LibreELEC USB SD Creator to write your SD card.

Write the latest 8.2.4 img to the SD, boot the SD card in the RPi and then upgrade your SD card using the tar file copied into the .update folder (or Update Samba share).

I did an update to todays nightly, and now CEC seems to not function. I just dropped the tar file in and let it do its upgrade thing on reboot. Before I go about getting debug log and such, i was just wondering if anyone else was having any similar issues.

There's no CEC updates in #0327, so it's important to know what version you updated from - was it #0326 or a much older version?

Try rebooting, in case it's a one-off glitch (also power cycle your display and all other devices in the chain).

Also check your CEC settings, in case CEC has somehow disabled itself.

Unfortunately no CEC here, so can't confirm if it's working or not.

Sorry Milhouse...was my blunder. All is good. Thanks for responding so quickly.
@Milhouse another question i didnt find in this thread but am sure has been asked before:
Is it possible to somehow implement your download list into the Libreelec Settings addon unter "custom update channels"?
The whole update procedure with ssh on a tablet and onscreen display keyboards is a pita.. ;D
#7 on post one
As Av3nged said, you can add these builds as a custom channel as explained in the first post at #7 or you scroll up a bit to post #4907, where it was explained just yesterday.
Hi,

With the latest builds on my rpi 3b+ suddenly i have a lot of lockups over the whole system i.e navigating trough the gui with stuttering/lags and also with live tv and playing content from my network share.

I noticed in my log these lines  and there are a lot of them but i don't have a clue what this mean.
