v18 -  LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
Hello Milhouse,

LibreELEC & TVHeadend Addon working here like a charm on a new RP3+. I could stream up to 8 HD Streams, but sometimes i got a Picture Error because it seams that the PI3+ dont use more then 2 Threads with Tvheadend. I Read that it is possible in a new Addon Version to change the CPU Threads to use. So here is my question.

Are there any plans to Update the Addon higher than 4.2? Maybe 4.4? Ahhh not 4.4... i mean 4.3 Big Grin

Thanks for the hard work and the great support Smile

I didn't see increased issues with OSD. I'll try it again and pay attention when OSD is on.

I'll work on other suggestions clock speed and voltage. Any useful tool to cut piece of video out of 3D ISO file?

I'd suggest makemkv. I imagine the issue is most likely in the hw decoder and so will probably also occur from an mkv file.

Is there any hope that all the BD/DVD breakage that was introduced in build #0127 will be fixed?

I can't see anything relevant in #0127 changes. Might have to produce some test builds with commits reverted to narrow it down.
Can you provide the link to the bug report in this thread?

There are links to 2 samples. #1 - a non-working DVD menu (black screen, used to work fine in pre-0127 builds). Sample #2 - a non-working BDMV folder (black screen when trying to start the movie from within an on-disc menu, also worked fine in pre-0127 builds).

Thanks @popcornmix . I need a bit of time to make it. Let's hope it works the same way on small MKV file. I have stuttering HEVC movie and when I cut small portion it stopped stuttering Wink For 3D splash issue I will test it with B again to make sure and try to do slow motion video as well.

It's odd that gdb isn't able to produce a stacktrace as Kodi has started and gdb is going through the motions. If Kodi doesn't even start then it's normal for there to be no crashlog but that's not the case here. Very odd... It's possible the memory map threshhold change is impacting the ability to create a crashlog so that may require further tuning - I'll try and investigate that further when I have time.

One more issue happening for a while now and probably related to recent builds rather than B+. During 3D MVC playback there are brighter flashes on right eye. It is a single frame and typically 3 to 10 times per movie. It is specific to a scene. I can rewind and play it again. It will always be in the same specific scene and time. It's like decoder error extracting 3D image. I tried to capture this in the picture but Kodi does not allow for frame by frame advancement and probability of hitting pause at the correct frame is very low. I can make a slow motion video if anybody wants to see the issue. It appears to be some colour range error. Looks like right eye gets a lot brighter with colours blown for a single frame. Very distracting.

I hooked up RPi3 B (not +) to my 3D TV for quick test. The same movie, place, cable etc. different SD chip from RPi3 B. The splash artifact is not there. The micro stutters are gone too. I'll try to rig something this weekend to record the issue in slow motion. Hopefully small chunk of the movie will still generate the issue. It is specific to B+.
And I sold one of my old trusted RPi3 B ;(

OSD like info with M key does not effect stutter in a long run. Initial frame skips when overlay pops up is stronger on Pi B compared to B+. After few seconds everything looks the same as without OSD.

I have found the following in the debug log when these dropouts happen:

Unfortunately in my debug environment both samples play correctly.
On latest LE Sample 2 plays correctly for me.
On latest LE Sample 1 shows blank screen (with gui menu overlay visible and audio). Disabling mmal makes it work. Disabling "adjust framerate" makes it work.

I suspect its a fairly subtle timing issue that makes it work or not work. I really need it to fail in debug environment to get further. I'll see if milhouse's sample fails.

Sample 2 seems to work intermittently for me. Yesterday I tried to run it again and it worked. But when I tried to run it again (multiple times) I got a black screen.
With sample 1 (DVD) I always get a blank screen (with menu overlay visible and audio). The movie starts fine though.
