Just a small update: https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.t...-397497347 - for non-X11 systems (ie. RPi) Kodi isn't being told to use the configured keyboard layout, but we're not yet sure how best to tell it to Kodi... investigations continue.
Any news on this issue ?
The reactions in https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.t...-397497347 seem quite reserved. Smile

No not yet!

Everyone is rather busy, either with real-life or dealing with other development issues. I wrote those instructions so they wouldn't be forgotten, and so that anyone could address it as and when they have the time/inclination. I'm sure it's annoying but I don't have an ETA when it will be fixed.

I've got a problem with Youtube videos freezing after 20 minutes in #0617 and previous builds. I posted the details on the Youtube Plugin Thread but got told to post it somewhere else. Should I post the details here or is there a better place?

Sure, post a debug log (wiki) that includes freeze. The log might be large, so if necessary zip it and upload to dropbox/googledrive etc.

Do you have any idea when this started?

Freeze after 20 minutes of playing a single video in YouTube Plugin.

Here's the debug log: http://ix.io/1dTL

What happens is a video will play correctly for ~20 minutes and then freeze. The image becomes static and after a few seconds a buffering counter appears in the middle of the screen but never advances beyond zero. I can stop the video and Kodi then appears to work normally after that. There is no crash or restart.

The problem is evident in Youtube Plugin versions 6.0.2 and 6.1.0 alpha 10, and Kodi 18 alpha #0617, although I've experienced the problem in earlier versions of Kodi 18. I only
installed the addon recently so I can't tell when the problem started.

I'm still having an issue when building Kodi with parallel LTO. I have to disable LTO, otherwise DVD playback is not working.
I noticed that in your current images kodi.bin is 12,3 MB. But in my builds with default, untouched LTO settings kodi.bin is currently 14,7 MB and it is around 16 MB when LTO is disabled. Looks like something goes wrong during link-time optimization.
What hardware are you using to build those images? I suspect that my CPU (Ivy Bridge i5-3450) is somehow incompatible with current LTO settings in LE build system.

For these nightly build I'm using an AMD FX-8350 on Ubuntu 17.10. I've also been building on an Intel Haswell-type CPU in an Ubuntu 16.04 VM.

Both of these build hosts are creating kodi.bin in the region of 12.6-12.9MB.

AMD FX-8350, Ubuntu 17.10:
text:

neil@nm-linux:~/projects$ ls -la extract/SYS/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 12937680 Jun 19 22:17 extract/SYS/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin
Intel Haswell, Ubuntu 16.04:
text:

ubuntu@letest:~/projects$ ls -la extract/SYS/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 12608084 Jun 20 15:26 extract/SYS/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin

Disabling LTO can be expected to increase the size of kodi.bin by about 1.5MB so that would account for the increase to 16MB, but I'm not sure why your binaries are so much larger in the first place.

Are you building with Ubuntu? Maybe try a 16.04 Ubuntu VM.

I'm currently building with Linux Mint 18.3. I also tried Ubuntu 16.04 Server but it it didn't make any difference - same issue with LTO and kodi.bin is large compared to your builds.

I'll have a think, but nothing obvious is coming to mind - I don't have very many unmerged Kodi patches at this time, and the only build system patches are for dash (PR2785) and adding builder version/name (PR2742), neither of which will have any effect on LTO and binary size.

Are you using the default GCC_OPTIM="-Os" optimisation for size?

I've included the ffmpeg patch in build #0619b: RPi2

I've tested with the sample video from the ticket and it now plays. I'll continue to include the patch until it is added upstream.

Ping @popcornmix, @fritsch, @FernetMenta
OK, the patch is working for my video too.

Thanks

Yes, I did't touch config/optimize.

Hello,

thanks for the great effort to provide this build.

I'm trying to get the Amazon VOD plugin to work. Background:
- German account, however not in germany currently, so connected via a VPN (ipvanish, I can log on to amazon prime on my PC, and Amazon doesn't complain, as long as the vpn is running).
- raspberry pi 3b+
- build #620 (but same behaviour on #616)
- Connected to my ancient tube tv via composite port, nothing connected to the hdmi
- inputstream configured 480/480 (but same if 720/720).
- youtube and PVR play videos and sound without problem, with and without vpn connection.

I can log into Amazon VOD, browse the listings, but when I try to play something, I get an error. Log (with debug enabled) is at https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/kPBSpbzzzq/  ,the relevant bits (I think) start at
00:34:09.005 T:1557132144   ERROR: [Amazon VOD] Cannot complete request. (prs.norights.anonymizerip)

Does this sound familiar - I'm guessing I haven't really stumbled upon a bug, but rather just configured something wrong. However, I haven't bin able to find out what.

Greetings,
Indriði

Not really sure about this add-on. I generally recommend the Amazon Prime Instant add-on (details in the first post) as I know that works - for anything else you're on your own. Amazon (Prime Instant) and Netflix are both currently working, so I would suggest you contact the add-on maintainer for support.

I replaced the router and everything is now working.  Thanks for the feedback all.

Greetings,
Indriði

I have been following the official thread (https://www.kodinerds.net/index.php/Thre...ant-Video/) for a while now and haven't seen your issue yet. You could ask for help there, but I assume it's an issue with your VPN.
