v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)

We need to know what has stopped working:
Just the remote control?
Kodi?
Everything?

Does a different controller work after it stops responding? (e.g. keyboard or smart phone app?)
Can you ssh in after it's stopped responding? If you can does "systemctl restart kodi" bring it back?

Everything stops. I’m not even able to login with SSH.
But the screen is not black, I can see the last menu/screen in Kodi.

I’m using Flirc for my remote. I have not tried with any other input. But since SSH stop working also I assumed that there is something bigger than just the input from remote or keyboard.

Are you able to test for a day or two without Emby? Though that might not explain the ssh failure. If you have any overclocks then try removing those.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

I have no overclocking, and it is no problem to disable Emby to test if that is the problem. Is it enough to disable or do I need to uninstall Emby addon?

Just disabling should be enough in theory, although if you're able to test with a more-or-less "clean" .kodi (no extra addons, just your local sources etc.) then that might be a better option.

For a while, I have been unable to timeshift an active recording using the MediaPortal plugin. Sorry, but I haven't had time to work out when this started. I will have a go at the weekend.

Skip steps and fast forward simply don't respond at all.

I now see someone else is reporting the same behaviour on Android.

Hello,

was the Lirc usage changed in the last two weeks?
In the current build, 'irw ' show me the button events of my remote, but kodi does not react.

The startup argument --lircdev does not exists (anymore) and I've followed the description in https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=331865
to resolve the issue, but…
Adding Environment="LIRC_SOCKET_PATH=/var/run/lirc/lircd" into /storage/.config/system.d/kodi.service, does not change the situation.
(The other proposal, adding the environment variable directly into the ExecStart, also fails.)

How could I re-enable the Lirc-Support of Kodi?

Lirc support is working fine to my knowledge. Please don't change the kodi service unless you know what you are doing - following a random guide for a different operating system is not a good idea, and unlikely to work.

There is an eventlircd change in #1104, although this shouldn't be causing any change in lirc support.

The --lircdev argument was dropped in #0415, 7 months ago.

If you're sure the change you are seeing only occurred in the last two weeks then it should be relatively easy for you to identify the first build with the new behaviour.

There have not been any other reports of lirc problems in the last two weeks, so check you haven't misconfigured your environment - try testing with a "clean" .kodi (and standard/stock LibreELEC services).

Hi,

I'm having trouble starting videos in the Netflix Addon since the last update. The App seems to work normally until I click a video tu run. The wheel starts spinning and then nothing happens.

Thanks, mate. Installed the fixed version of 0.13.16 from ZIP and after a reboot everything is working fine again.

Edit: Sorry, I've posted too early and need to investigate more time. Your hint with Build #1004 seems to be important
I've reverted my changes on the kodi.service file and tested some images of the last weeks.
The post 6683 -Image (2018-11-01) works,
but post 6695-Image (2018-11-03) does not react on lirc inputs.
More details I could currently not provide.
