With new build #0722 ive noticed some problems when switching live tv channels on my intel kaby lake nuc.
It seems, that this problems only occur with 1080i material - when switching to a 1080i channel, the channel osd is flickering some seconds then i get some seconds a black screen and only then the tv picture.
With other material (sd and hd720p) everything is very smooth and fast.
Ahhh, just back from holiday and running into 3 problems at the same time.

This one:

for issue https://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/17516, at least until it's fixed properly.

It's hard to see what problem is what at the moment.
Any advise on how I can support on solving these, or are there enough log files allready and should I stay with build 0709 for now to solve at least the last two?

Other question:
One of my htpc's is having troubles with it's videocard that needs to be replaced. What would be the best suggestion in long terms: AMD or Nvidia?

Thanks.
@rudrood: Only 3? You're not trying hard enough!

I'm guessing #3 (channel switch) is in some way due to PR12510. More channel switch changes are on the way which might break some PVR addons over the next few days - best to hold on and see what happens.

As for the other issues - they've got trac tickets, not sure what else to suggest but be patient... Smile

Hi Milhouse,

I just played around with your new image and found a Nvidia related Issue with 23.98 fps stuff and adjust display refresh rate On start/stop sync to display is
not involved.

Maybe this issue is related to the issue https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2616293 already reported.

Player > Videos > adjust display refresh rate On start/stop --> Play a video 23.98 fps GUI is set to 50Hz -> black screen, no audio problem

Kodi issue or my local misconfiguration ?

@ragnaroek good information, thanks. Seems more likely to be a Kodi issue. Would you mind adding your findings to https://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/17545 ? Being able to reproduce on Ubuntu may make the bug report less offensive.

A quick question while trying to figure out why le8 isn't seeing my server2012r2 (smb dialect 3.02) shares anymore...

What are the intentions for the SMB client? Will it be only 3 and above?
That would rule out windows 7/server2008 servers. (smb 2.1)

If it is even SMb 3.11, then only win10/server 2016 will be supported?

Sure, will add this, no problem.

LE8 with Samba 3.6.x (and also Kodi) only supports SMB1, which is now disabled on your server.

The intentions are to upgrade Samba support to 4.6.x in the next LE8 release, with extra fixes in Kodi 17.4, which should then work automatically with your server, negotiating the correct SMB protocol based on what the server can support (SMB3, SMB2 and - if you don't care about your security/data - SMB1). The next LE8 release will happen soon after Kodi 17.4 is released.

Note that these Samba and Kodi fixes are already in these test builds, and have been for some time.

I fully agree that smb1 should die

So I guess it is still a samba 4.7 'glitch' that it can't connect/see my 3.02 shares?
