v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)

(2017-08-19, 17:12)Freakaaa Wrote: Hi,

I updated from LE 8.0.2 to the latest Milhouse #0818 Version and having trouble with some Live-TV channels. Some just work fine, but others freeze the complete system. I didn't have any problems on 8.0.2 as everything works like a charm there.

Here's the log. Hope someone can help: http://sprunge.us/QCSf

No one any ideas on this issue??

I guess not. I noticed you're using Nvidia, unfortunately this hardware is poorly supported by Kodi as the developers don't use it.

I noticed your post on the LibreELEC forum - these test builds include a more recent version of ffmpeg (3.3 vs 3.1.9 in LE 8.1.0) but disabling hardware mpeg might be worth a shot.

If disabling hardware mpeg works, then switching to the legacy nvidia driver (and re-enabling hardware mpeg) would add another data point - hardware mpeg working with the legacy driver but not the newer driver would be something to raise with nvidia.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Thanks for your feedback Milhouse! Disabling the hardware mpeg works! I also switched to the legacy driver like shown in your link and now everything works with hardware mpeg enabled - perfect!
What kind of hardware are developers using?

Mostly Intel, I think.

I‘d yesterday updated to build 0820 from LE 8.0.1 and noticed that inputs from MS RC6 remote are always doubled. Anyone else have this problem?

Disabling LIRC in Libreelec Settings should do the trick
Thanks, this works

Turn off LIRC in LE Settings addon. These LE9 builds don't need it.

@Freakaaa do you have a test/sample mpeg file demonstrates the issue and that we could test with?

You might want to give 384.69 a try, although there's nothing obvious in the changelog which would suggest there is a fix.

However a sample file would be good, otherwise it's going to be difficult to forward this to Nvidia - a member of the LE team has a GPU using the 384.59 driver and so far isn't able to reproduce the issue.

Hello Milhouse.
Are there any chances of getting hardware support for nvidia graphics cards or amd up to 4k hevc? If you have any news that are supported then write.

Nvidia requires using cuvid/nvenc which kodi doesn't support.

Newer amd cards should support it but I don't have the hardware so I cannot test.

Thank you for your answer.

What do you mean by writing?

Half a year ago I bought AMD 460 and there was no sound support after hdmi. Currently I have nvidia 1050 but I know that she does not give anything wrong and a pity.
