Binary add-ons repo needs to be rebuilt

Thank you lrusak, you mean rebuilt by kodi team dev., right? Its nothing i can do with it on my side, if i understand correctly? Thank you again.
hi all,

an issue is haunting me since >0801 (tried 0906 also).
when i watch live-tv and want to switch over to viewing a recording, i have to press "Stop" (the live tv session) first, or else the recording won't play.

When i press "Stop" first, the live tv stops, i can then select a recording and it plays fine.

this is in the log ( pastebin ):

Code:

Build #829 will play HEVC 10bit local files (via SW decoding) just fine but as of #830 only 8bit HEVC files will play fine (via HW decoding) while 10bit HEVC files will play but with very garbled video. Audio is fine on both types. I have an Intel Core i-3 6100 CPU if that helps. Please let me know if you would like any logs. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can confirm (Skylake NUC). No idea what is causing that though.

I've narrowed it down and informed the developer, will mention in a future changelog once it is fixed. It's an ffmpeg patch, and affects all software decoded HEVC playback, 8-bit and 10-bit.

Thanks for looking into it. Much appreciated. Big Grin

I made some investigations and here is the result

I think you have to dig more on new kernel 4.12.1, because before I didn't observe any issue at all
Hope it helps

We had 8 test releases for 4.12 (one for each release candidate, plus 4.12.0 as the cutover to the new kernel was delayed by an nvidia driver issue) - can you try the Generic builds linked in PR:1629 as that should help narrow it down further.

I do the following
from #714 -> #0518x result KO
from #0518x -> #0628x result KO
from #0628x -> #713 result OK

Any test to advice ?

(2017-09-06, 22:56)Nekromantik Wrote: Anyone else on Apollo Lake NUC cant get 5ghz wifi channels past 48 to work?

On mine it hangs on black screen with mouse pointer after splash screen.

The 5GHz channels above 48, ie. 52+, are the DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) channels which can only be used if no other equipment (ie. radar) is using the same radio spectrum used by DFS, and it's the access point that must automatically move off the DFS channel if interference is detected hence it's a feature that not every access point vendor supports.

A DFS client will only transmit on a DFS channel if it is approved to do so by the access point - have you confirmed that your access point supports DFS? If it doesn't support DFS, or has a faulty implementation of DFS, then an Intel WiFi client won't transmit on a DFS channel.

Is the "hanging" you are seeing possibly "wait for network" (which will never connect), or Wake-on-LAN?

My router does support DFS. Im using DD WRT.
The NUC when booted to windows works fine so its just on LE.

I do have wait for network so yes its probably that.
Quick post here likely missing important info, so quite possibly useless. But while it's on my mind, here it is.

Up until a couple days ago I was running two systems, both on stable version of LibreELEC. One is on a Chromebox, the other is on a VM on my unRAID Server @ 4 MB RAM & 4 Cores.

I updated the Chromebox to #0903. No issues for my uses outside of the HDHR addon no longer working properly. The "thinking" rotating clock, and then logo were stuck on the screen and there wasn't anything I can do. No biggie as I rarely use this addon, only if the MythTV PVR backend is failing for whatever reason and I don't have time to reset it. I was able to install Netflix and Amazon Prime. Big plus.

Today, I did the upgrade to the VM. After the reboot, it was sluggish and unusable. Navigating the menu was clunky, a second or more behind, and videos would not stream properly. I realized I had installed #0906. I figured it was something with the VM not working well on these Alpha versions, but I decided to try again by downgrading to #0903, the working version on my Chromebox. To my pleasant surprise, it worked.

If there's any diagnostic logs you'd like me to run, or tests to try out, I'll keep my eye on this thread.
@Living Legend can you test #0904 and #0905 to determine if they're also affected with the same sluggish performance? The obvious candidate would be #0904 with the new 4.13 kernel, though I've no idea why...

What form of virtualization is it? You can only expect good performance if you are using qemu and passing through a dedicated gpu. Otherwise you are going to get software decoding of videos which won't work that we'll.

Can you install the "network tools" add-on from the LibreELEC repository as this will install the iw utility, reboot, then run:
Code:
iw list | pastebinit
iw reg get | pastebinit
iw dev wlan0 scan | pastebinit
iw dev wlan0 info | pastebinit
iw dev wlan0 link | pastebinit
and paste the links.

running 0907 build
renders the interface unusable on my hardware.
regarding interface build 0904 still works

as of 09XX build the addon game.libretro is no longer compatible
can I fix this somehow?
Found an issue with IPTV simple pvr addon.
Starting with build 0808 (the first build with a working IPTV simple addon after the PVR api to 5.4.0 update) Kodi displays the "ends at" time on the OSD the same as the current time.
The progress bar at the bottom of the OSD is oke, but the times underneath it are also weird.

Images attached:
first: build 0722 (last working version before PVR api update).
second: build 0808 and up.
