If you identify the first build without working HDMI then that will help. Unfortunately few of us have this hardware and @piotrasd that does isn't about much these days. I was under the impression that support for Cherry Trail audio had been merged upstream so I don't think we have any explicit support (ie. out of tree patches) for this hardware now.

Ok, I just went through a 'couple' of builds and figured out since when this issue occured... The last build with working HDMI-Audio was #0903. Since #0904 there is no audio (I tried a few builds after this one incl. the latest one). Does this help you?

This was something that I reported after #0903 when the kernel was updated to 4.13.0 in #0904.

It seems that we will just have to wait for the newer kernels to support the hardware again.

I had noticed that Linuxium had a Linux distro with the same kernel purporting to support the audio in these boxes but on testing it there was no audio, which to me indicates that it is kernel related.

Just found this ticket on archlinux: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/55592
Cherry Trail users - is 4.14.y any better?

There are currently three 4.14.y release candidates: https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/pull/1991

Try 4.14-rc3.

I tried the 4.14 release candidates but unfortunately, no change.
just curious... and not a problem, but am i the only one that notice small tearing (just a second) in kodi menù when changing / refresh page ?

absolutely NO problem during playback, only in kodi menù

it's not related to last build (i noticed almost since one month)

repeat i'm only curious to know if is a known bug or maybe something is corrupted in my environment

Did you have a custom EDID setup on your box? Seems I had a similar issue when a build changed kernels. Possibly it was from 4.12 to 4.13. I had to edit extlinux.conf to remove the info similar to this "initrd=/edid.cpio drm_kms_helper.edid_firmware=HDMI-A-1:edid/edid.bin video=HDMI-A-1Big Grin" from the APPEND line to fix it.

From what I understand there is a problem building Hyperion at the moment, which is why it isn't present in the 9.0 repository.
