v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
Hi Milhouse

Can you elaborate on the current conflict with media_build?

I am using TBS card so updates are on hold for me :-(

Cheers

There have been dvb driver issues reported:

https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/10151-...#post65298

which are likely due to the media_build in LibreELEC master being behind a little behind the current 4.13.y kernel.

The media_build package in LE master needs updating, and until then it's best to disable it rather than cause random issues.

Thanks Millhouse, the fix on #1012 makes the emulators work. the first issues that i heve noted is a visual glich when pressing ESC to get the OSD and the keyboard gets the player 1 position all the time if it is plugged. In retroarch there is a option to change the devices order, it would be nice if it becomes accessible on menu.

Edit: tested on a clean install and without a keyboard plugged and the player 1 is locked, using a ps3 controller plugged on cable.

Millhouse

With regards to the Cherry Trail audio issues with the newer kernels, I found this comment over at Archlinux.

"I have a Cherrytrail-based Intel Compute Stick (STK1AW32SC) and I was experiencing the same issue.

I tracked the bug down to this commit:
ALSA: x86: Register multiple PCM devices for the LPE audio card

If I revert this commit I am able to get sound with v4.14-rc4"

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git/commit/?h=next-20171013&id=8a2d6ae1f737fd22eaeadd0dc32b85c92f239025

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ker...c92f239025

I wondered if this information might be of use for future builds?

Do you have the link to the Archlinux post?

I've uploaded a 4.14-rc4 test build with the commit reverted, build #1016c: Generic.

Compare it with the "normal" 4.14-rc4 build #1012x: Generic, which should have no audio.

Assuming #1016c has working audio the next step would be for someone to file a bug on https://bugs.freedesktop.org, I imagine.

Note: I'll only be reverting this kernel commit as a one-off - the issue needs fixing in the mainline kernel, which is unlikely to happen without a bug report.

This was the Archlibux thread.

Archlinux bug thread

Thanks for creating the one of one build with the regression and I can confirm that #1016c works, whereas #1012x has no audio.

I'm happy to file a report on Bugzilla.

If you could that would be great (probably worth confirming the fix on Archlinux too).

just upgraded from #1015 to #1016x

first boot after rebooting LibreELEC trigger IR command twice (this happened before with Lirc enabled on NUC6CAYH (Apollo Lake), I have Lirc disabled since)

I went into LibreELEC to check and Lirc is still disabled, I enabled it and solve the problem, I tried to disable Lirc again and my IR remote control stopped working, had to plug in a keyboard to enable Lirc again.

Now it's working normal with Lirc enabled, not sure this is a bug or not.

OK, I see it too - the double-keypress problem is present in all 4.14-rc so far. Investigating.
