Run memtest86+ on your RAM - the only "installer wouldn't boot" issues I've seen were down to bad RAM DIMMs.

Other than that, I'm not really sure - are you on the latest BIOS? We know that Gemini Lake CPUs will boot the installer so it's unlikely to be a kernel issue, and more likely a BIOS issue - the installer should boot in either "legacy" BIOS or UEFI modes.

Probably best to continue the discussion in the LE forum until it is resolved - I'll keep an eye on it and if any changes are necessary will follow up. 
 Thanks... ill install windows to see if everything else works. Its weird that the other person that created the thread had the same problem with the exact same nuc.
