v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
Hi,
I have a problem when switching channels (TVheadend4.2 as backend). Approximately one or two times a day the system crashes when switching from one to another channel.
I tested several builds the last days and the last one that does not have this problem is #1211.
The crashlog can be found here: https://pastebin.com/5TmvvzNW

Can you test build #1221b Generic and confirm if that also crashes, or not.

#1221b is the same as #1221, but reverts mesa-18.3.1 back to 18.3.0.

You may need to stick with #1211 for now, until this problem can be investigated further.

Thank you - it's just flashing Smile!
What I tried yesterday was to remove my advancedsettings.xml (to reduce RAM-usage) and it did not crash (tested ~half a day)Confused ...
Now #1221b is flashed and advancedsettings.xml (like shown below) is re-activated - I will test this weekend and inform ...

xml:

<advancedsettings>
  <cache>
    <buffermode>1</buffermode>
    <memorysize>838860800</memorysize>
    <readfactor>4.0</readfactor>
  </cache>

Not yet clear if this is a Kodi or mesa-18.3.1 issue, this will require further investigation by a Kodi developer, at some point.

ok, Thank you - i will stay at version #1221b (or #1211) for now, as you suggested.
(running without my "advancedsettings.xml" leads to problems with streaming services due to not so good internet connection)

Just tested with #909 (2017) and #910 (2017)

#909 (2017) - Working
#910 (2017) - Not working

#910 introduced the flickering of leds, when using the hyperion.kodi addon (https://github.com/hyperion-project/hype...i/releases). The addon does use the RenderCapture() method. Maybe related to https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/12776

For more details: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=338046

Debug log (Using #910 and version 1.0.2 from https://github.com/hyperion-project/hype...i/releases): https://pastebin.com/rYBzhiQX
Hey. Milhouse do you/team need any more info about this issue to be adressed?

There are no LibreELEC changes in #0910 (2017) - all changes are Kodi related. Almost certainly the problem is introduced by PR12776.

The best option now would be to open a Kodi issue posting all the relevant details, and hope someone familiar with VideoPlayer is prepared to have a go and fix the issue. Or contact the Hyperion developers to see if they can work around the changes in Kodi.
