v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
@Milhouse  What are the main differences between your builds now and the 9.95 betas of libreelec? In essence what will we 'loose' by using the official builds once we reach release?

This is not smart. This would mean that even normal 1080p videos that are display on 1080p might be scaled with that method, if only one pixel is different. Keep it on 20%.

These settings are for testing only. Normally I go with the defaults, with the exception of Video scaling method: Auto.

At the moment 8.95.02 is behind by about 2 kernel bumps, and missing a few kodi bug fixes (inc. a video db version bump).

It's hard to say what you will lose until Kodi 18 is released, but it shouldn't be much and unlikely to be anything significant.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Read the changelogs before installing.

Skins will be broken after the ABI bump in #0102.

Contact your skin maintainer for an update.

Morning folks,

I had not updated my ASUS Chromebox (M061U Core i3 4010U 1.7GHz, 4GB RAM, 16GB SSD) in a long time but last night I went for it.

With anything after LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-9.0-Milhouse-20181022210409-#1022-g86e23ee I get a lot of lag and buffering of video (Gone between #1022 & #1023 a few times now to test).

Would this ring a bell with anyone and if not what would be the best way of figuring out what might be causing it please, I am currently trying to get some log files from #1023 to see if anything jumps out at me?

October 2018..?!? We're not in the habit of looking back, only forward. Install the latest release (#0112), enable debugging, and reproduce the error(s). Provide the URL to your pastebin'd debug log (wiki) after that.
Hi Klojum, thanks for the advice.

I thought it might help knowing at what point it started but clearly not.

I have just found someone else reported what I think is the same issue and I think others have / had a problem too.

@D-an-W try the suggestion in this post: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2798846 - there's a bug in the 4.19 kernel that is causing your hardware to experience reduced network performance.

Thanks Milhouse, was actually just editing my post to say I had tried that and it didn't help (Connecting the WiFi fixes it for now)!

There may be an update from MattDevo for my Chromebox firmware so I am currently reading up on that.
I've also network issues with my Chromebox and Linux kernel 4.19 (including the official LibreELEC versions 8.95.00n).

Building LibreELEC with kernel 4.18 works flawlessly.
