v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)

Try to update Kodi repository and you should install.
(2019-03-11, 12:19)Arulrajah Wrote: tried to update from Kodi 17 to Kodi 18. I'm now on Kodi 18.1
I like the skin "Confluence". Immediately I get the error message "The dependency on xmbc.gui version 5.12.0 could not be satisfied."
I'm using a firestick. When I did this, it was not a clean insteall. It was an update from 17 to 18, which kept all my settings.
Now if I try to download any other skin, I get the same error. I REALLY don't want to uninstall Kodi and reinstall every single add-on. Is there anything I can do?
 yes, you can ask for support in the correct area/thread.  You're not running LibreELEC, you're not running Milhouse's nightly builds, you're not using an x86_64 device.

Hi,
with build #0312 sound playback doesn't work anymore and audio output device is greyed out for me.
http://ix.io/1DmG

edit: Hmmm, seems that only my NUC is affected - no sound problems on my living room system (also KBL i3-7100)!?
Living room works with pt and av-receiver and NUC is plugged in directly over HDMI in my Samsung TV - will do some more tests....

Looks like no ALSA devices have been detected, can you provide your dmesg?

Is this a Chromebox? This looks to be a similar issue to the Chromebox problem reported by @matt Devo and others, where a different sound driver is now being loaded (since 4.19.0, actually).

In #0311:

It looks like #0312 now finds a matching snd_soc_skl machine driver and uses that in preference to the Realtek driver which then fails to load, presumably due to missing firmware but I've no idea where this firmware is to be found (it's not in the linux-firmware repo) - Googleing for dfw_sst.bin leads me only to ChromeOS and Android-related websites.

Can you try:
text:

echo "blacklist snd_soc_skl" >>/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
reboot
and see if that helps?

Not really sure how to fix this right now.

Many thanks for your explanation and your efforts!
Will try your suggestion when i am back at home from my daily mission "feed your family"...

btw: its not a chromebox, its the NUC7i3BNH.

You can create the dfw_sst.bin topology file with the alsatplg tool and the topology source:
Code:
mkdir -p .config/firmware
alsatplg -c /usr/share/alsa/topology/sklrt286/skl_i2s.conf -o .config/firmware/dfw_sst.bin

I'm not really familiar with this intel topology stuff but you may also need to setup audio routes after boot with alsaucm, sth like this (for analog audio output)
Code:
alsaucm -c skylake-rt286 set _verb HiFi
or this (for output to Hdmi)
Code:
alsaucm -c skylake-rt286 set _verb Hdmi1

so long,

Hias
@Milhouse

bash:
echo "blacklist snd_soc_skl" >>/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

This helped getting sound back on my NUC6CAY
@Milhouse
Sound is back, yes - thanks!
@HiassofT
Don't know if i got and understand everything right here, but with these "lines" i get only a blank screen.
