@smp1 6.04-pre2 seems to be OK, but 6.04-pre3 fails. I haven't been able to determine the exact commit as syslinux uses sub-modules and has to be packaged in order to build it, and I'm not currently able to package it correctly. My best guess is that https://repo.or.cz/syslinux.git/commit/3...321f738f00 is likely to be the troublesome commit, but that's just a guess as bisecting syslinux is a PITA.

Thanks for testing. 6.04-pre2 does indeed work and it fixed the intermittent boot issue with J4105B-ITX board - I rebooted it multiple times and it survived 50+ reboot cycles with no problems.

Running on Gemini Lake N5005 and J5005 (Nuc7pjyh) I had an issue having to bring up the overlay to kick the GPU into running at a higher frequency. This also helped with the audio lag.

I had been using the following in autostart.sh to force the GPU to run at a higher frequency all the time:

This has stopped working in recent builds (havn't figured out which one yet) and I assume is due to a graphics driver upgrade. Anyone on the forum found a workaround to this?

Edit: Nevermind, adding it to autostart.sh actually works. It always stays at max frequency when playing video (I use 750 Mhz) and switch to 100 Mhz when Kodi does nothing.

I'm using a Logitech Harmony Remote which is using a combination of MCE Remote commands (for the directional buttons and OK) and the MCE Keyboard for all the other buttons.  The method used to do this is detailed here.

Here are the debug logs from builds #311 and #312.  Everything works fine in 311 and then in 312, only the directional buttons remain working.  Running "ir-keytable -p mce_kbd" on #312 says it's switched to the MCE keyboard but it still doesn't work (tested with an actual MCE keyboard to make sure it isn't the remote).  Running "ir-keytable -p mce_kbd" on earlier builds makes the keyboard start working immediately (before using the above method to automatically set that at startup).

Anyone know what broke MCE keyboards in #312+ ?  Thanks!

With the newer kernel MCE keyboard handling has changed. Previously a separate input device was created for the MCE keyboard (which was then seen as a "keyboard" by the system), whereas current kernels send MCE keyboard events through the standard RC input device - so these events are now routed through eventlircd and Kodi sees them as Lirc events, not keyboard events.

As you are using a Harmony remote I'd recommed you configure it as just a standard MCE remote and better stay away from MCE keyboard. Supporting just the MCE keyboard would be rather easy but supporting both a MCE remote and a MCE keyboard is rather tricky.

Oh dear, that's a shame.  Can you tell me how I switch to using pure MCE keyboard in the newer kernel?  The remote is too limited to switch to using only that, whereas the keyboard offers, well, a full keyboard so mapping standard Kodi commands is really simple with the Logitech Harmony software.

I seem to remember I had to use the combination of kb and remote because the responsiveness of the directional buttons when using the MCE kb was poor but as stated, the keyboard offers far more mappings and easier config in the Harmony software.  Hopefully the directional and [OK/Select] responsiveness is better now, if not I guess I'll be stuck on #311 forever!

If you create an empty 98-eventlircd.rules file eventlircd processing will be disabled and the MCE keyboard will work like before:

With eventlircd disabled MCE remote buttons will still mostly work, but some like KEY_OK or KEY_CHANNELUP/DOWN will stop working. If you want to use these you'll need to remap then to supported key codes (eg KEY_ENTER, KEY_PAGEUP/DOWN) via a custom rc_keymap file (you can use rc6_mce as a base and just change the keycodes you need).
