Kodi was working fine, until few weeks ago. I think it was related to one of the regular updates I do on my Kodi box, which is running Arch.
The symptoms are:
- when there is no playback, the menu stutters and freezes for several seconds. But this is not constant. It starts happening, then goes away, then comes back again.
- hen there is playback, it can freeze for seconds, or stutter. Then go away.
- also, the menus, and OSD elements during playback can flicker (disappear and appear)
Notes:
- all of those issues are not constant - they come and go
- none of those problems is correlated to CPU or Memory usage of the host system. It can be idle and they happen, it can be under heavy load, and everything is fine
- I am 90% certain they only occur in full screen. When I hit "/" to switch it to windowed mode, usually problems seem to stop until I switch it back to fullscreen
- there were no configuration changes to the system or Kodi itself between the time it worked and stopped working (apart from updates)
